Well it's time to make ourselves look foolish by getting things completely wrong!

East: The Cavs surely. They have a dream run: we're the walking wounded, Boston are so done they'll struggle to even get past Miami. Only Orlando looks a threat, but if even one guy not LeBron remembers how to shoot this year there will be no repeat of last season.

West: Damn, who knows? How will Durant do in his first playoffs? Do Duncan, Nash or Dirk have one last run in them? Anybody could beat anybody, the teams are all good. The Lakers know they'll be Boston in a couple of years so they have to make the most of their chances now. I expect they'll find a way to get through, but not without a few scares along the way.

Finals: I think it's LeBron's time. The Lakers aren't quite what they were last year, and they'll have had a hard battle compared to the Cavs. 4-2 Cavs, LeBron wins the finals MVP, and people finally stop referring to Kobe as the best player in the game.

Who refers to Kobe as the best in the game? That is a minority of people. People on THIS board are insane enough to say other players are better (Duncan? give me a damn break). But Lebron is the best in the league...five more years like he has had, at the correctly predicted rate of growth of most players, Lebron is a serious candidate for greatest ever. He doesn't need 6 championships either. That said,

I believe it will be Orlando vs. Mavs in the finals, with the Mavs winning and Dirk getting that monkey off his back finally. I also expect this playoff to be highly entertaining, especially in the second round and beyond...

My favorite teams
  1. Chicago Cubs
  1. Chicago Bulls
  2. Golden State Warriors
  1. Chicago Bears
  1. Chicago Blackhawks
I think the Finals will be Cavs vs Lakers in a hopefully exciting 7 game series. I'll take the Lakers to win it. Cavs sweep the Bulls. Boston barely pulls out against the Heat. Hawks and Magic win in 5-6 games. I have no idea what will happen in the West...

One team I'm interested in is Atlanta. I feel kind of like they're the best case of what we were trying to put together before Rose. Not in style of course, but more in having good players at every position without a superstar.

Going into this season I still said Kobe was the best player in the NBA. LeBron has had a great season. I want to see a Cavs/Lakers finals and we'll see if LeBron officially takes the baton from Kobe.

But win or lose, going into next season LeBron will be the best player. I'm not going to argue with someone who says LeBron is the best now. I don't think you're wrong, just a matter of opinion now.

But Kobe is getting older and LeBron is entering his prime. He will be the clear cut best player in the NBA for the next 5 years. At that point it will be LBJ vs Durant. when LeBron enters his early 30's and Durant is 26-27.

I hope Dallas wins it, I don't think Bron has the people around him to win and I don't want the Lakers to win. Time for Dirk and Kidd to get one.

i hate the celtics, so i'm just glad they're gone. i'd rather give one to the mavs/magic, just so free agency looks interesting this year.

If we're talking about who deserves one I think Nash and the Suns deserve it more than the Mavs. Of course I want Amare to leave to increase the FA pool, so I'm not exactly hoping for it to happen.

I don't agree, Nash could have stayed in Dallas and had more playoff success. Cuban maybe a bit of a punk but I respect him as an owner and he tries everything he can to make his team successful.

I meant more that the Suns have had some really bad luck. Losing JJ to injury in the playoffs the first year Nash was there, Amare missing the next year, and of course that ridiculous suspension when guys left the bench. Yeah they've sold draft picks and that's bad management, but that's not the players fault.

The Mavs have had chances where they really failed to take them, so it's hard to say that I really feel bad for Dirk if he doesn't win a championship.

I liked the suns teams of the past but I don't think they have enough talent this year. Beyond Nash and stat the rest of those guys are suspect. Dallas has a lot of depth at every postion and two future hall of famers. Dirk had one legit shot and got screwed by the refs after they choked a bit.

Stig, if Dirk can play like he did tonight I might have to jump on the Dallas bandwagon ... 12/14 from the field, 12/12 from the line. I'm still not sure they have the defense to win, but they do have a lot of weapons offensively.

They really aren't bad defensively. Kidd, Marion, Butler, Dampier and Haywood are all good defenders and rebounders. Terry and Dirk are suspect but they give you so much firepower that it really doesn't matter. Maybe I just don't like the lakers that much but I just feel the Mavericks have the depth, size and firepower to take out anyone. Butler and Marion also have enough size and strength to slow Kobe a bit.

They got screwed by the refs? after they choked a bit? lol...Dirk had every chance to seal the deal, he didn't have enough heart, period.
