I don't get this Fred Hoiberg stuff. A guy who has NO pro coaching experience and substantial medical problems. Why him other than Paxson has a woodie for him(which probably means he gets hired).

I think the guy who should be hired is Tyron Lue. Smart guy who knows how to develop a good offense and has pro coaching experience.
That part is my only concern.

Gar Forman has the woody for him given his Iowa State ties.

Tyronne Lue probably will replace Blatt as head coach if LeBron wants Blatt out.

Lue is the defensive guy.

Tbh I would go after Tyronne Lue. I don't think Blatt is going to be fired after getting the team to the Finals in year 1 in the first year of his contract. Granted, Lebron is a coach on the floor and had a lot to do with that, but you can't completely discount how Blatt has adjusted his rotations with all the injuries the team has sustained in the playoffs and still succeeded. There's something to be said for that.

I'd go after Lue, even if he's defensive minded, simply for the fact that he was a smart player, has been by all accounts a good coach respected by his players, and knows the ins and outs of the Cavs. If it's not Hoiberg, my vote is for Lue. After that, I would give Ime Udoka from the Spurs a shot.

So you'd rather have a guy whose name you can't spell correctly, been with 3 teams in the last 2 years, and has no actual head coaching experience, than a guy who has proven to be a very good college head coach?

It doesn't have as much to do with "Iowa State ties" as it does with him being a former player for the franchise, a guy who is very well respected by his players, and someone with NBA front office experience. This guy is a winner wherever he goes - some people just have that "it" factor, and he does. I've watched it happen since his high school days. He'll be an NBA head coach, and then a front office executive in the near future. If we're lucky, it's for the Bulls.

Is that why he won a bunch of NBA titles?

So someone has to win a bunch of NBA titles as an NBA player to be a winning coach. Better call Phil Jackson and let him know how much he sucks. Honestly, Scoot, I expect better from you.

I was more so poking at you for saying he wins no matter where he goes.

Also Phil Jackson has an NBA Title as a player.

Are you shitting me? Spelling dis? Grow up. Lue is the highest paid assistant coach in the NBA for a reason and people talk about the key role he played with the Cavs. I think that he has another advantage in that he is a players coach.

There is going to be a very difficult assignment to replace Thibs. The players LOVED Thibs and have his back. I also think that they will be pissed off about how Reiny dissed Thibs in the announcement as well as the message delivered in that stupid ass press conference.

If Thibs would have gotten the boot after the end of the 2013-2014 season do you guys think Steve Kerr would have been interested in the Chicago Bulls job?

The clear message in that asinine press conference was that the next Bulls coach will be a yes man who will do everything that Paxson wants him to do. They want Hoiberg because they know he will follow their orders not because he is somekind of elite coach. He hasn't taken his team to the NCAA elite level.

Those "B teamers" made shots. Can't blame coaching on that. The bench didn't show up. Every time they came in during the playoffs, they got outplayed.

They lost because of their inability to defend the perimeter players. When you have defensive liabilities like Brooks, Hinrich, Rose, playing big time roles, you will not be successful. That is on Gar/Pax not knowing shit about how to balance a team.

like it or not Hoiberg is the next headcoach of the Bulls unless he says no and at this point i don't think thats his answer

the decision was made 3 years go that he would replace thibs...i remember a piece saying the Thibs-FO had some turmoil and they were looking at Hoiberg as possible replacement back in 2012

What about Mark Jackson? Thoughts about him?
Nearly everything said about his time was that he was hated in the organization. And by organization, I mean including the secretaries, custodians, and even interns.

Meh. I would rather see the Bulls hire Alvin Gentry if the other option was only Mark Jackson. I'm all for Freid Hoiberg at this point though.
