My predictions, trying to be realistic:

Starting lineup:
C Soto: .280, 24hr and 73rbi
1B Pena: .256, 44hr and 99rbi
2B DeWitt: .244, 2hr and 39rbi.......2B Baker: .277, 5hr and 36rbi
SS Castro: .301, 4hr and 66rbi
3B Ramirez: .287, 39hr and 110 rbi
LF Soriano: .267, 26hr, 79rbi
CF Byrd: .283, 12hr and 84rbi
RF Colvin: .270, 17hr and 70rbi

Starting Rotation:
Zambrano: 16-9, 3.7era
Dempster: 14-11, 3.9era
Garza: 17-7, 3.6era
Cashner: 12-10, 4.5era
Wells: 10-10, 4.8era

Others:
Marmol: 45saves, 2.6era and 97K's
Wood: 2.8era and 40 holds

I save the Cubs compete and will be buyers at deadline. Right now, I save 3rd place behind Cardinals and Brewers. But division wide open in my opinion. It all depends on injuries and moves the Cubs make.

I expect a down year from the Reds because I just think that and Baker is their manager.

Dude.... they don't use batting average here. Change your stat to BABIP.

I am not a homer with the cubs, but i say third place behind the reds and brewers... The cards are gonna battle the injury bug and if they dont get pooholes signed they will deal with that distraction. I say 6-9 games over .500. Good but not great and then come next offseason drop some cash and maybe we are talking about a contender in 2012. The moves this offseason were good for the most part i think this team is better then last year.

No, I meant you can't say his average will suck again because it went down last year, because Pena's BABIP was way to low to be repeated, and as that goes up, AVG goes up.

It's fine to project AVG.

OK:
Soto: looks good
Pena: looks good
DeWitt: won't be THAT bad; Baker: looks good
Castro: close enough
Ramirez: lower HR
Soriano: close enough
Byrd: close enough
Colvin: looks right
Zambrano: lower ERA
Dempster: lower ERA
Garza: higher ERA
Cashner: lower ERA
Wells: lower ERA

It's never fine to use AVG. Ever. It's literally the dumbest stat ever.

Ya, IK that, but he's trying to make me look like a saber Nazi :)hitler:), if I took it right. I'll discuss classic stats, but I know saber is better and BABIP helps determine AVG. But for projections, AVG is OK, because that's the simplest to project.

Wins as a starting pitcher is the dumbest stat in the entire world.

not the dumbest stat in the world but deff not something to decide who the best pitcher is, cause wins all determine on how well the pitchers offense is doing.

totally agree with you wins as a relief pitcher mean nothing, you were on the mound when colvin hit the two run bomb congrats on lucking out not defending that argument at all saves holds and ERA count as a relief pitcher and k/9 is pretty important for RP too.
