What does last night have to do with how much he sucked last year? He was awful last year, let in lots of soft goals. And last night he looked shaky on pucks around the net.



Hopefully he'll magically rediscover his form from a few years ago. The slim ray of hope is that playing for a contender will bring back his old form, but you come here and the way people post its as if we signed Ryan Miller in the offseason, not a washed up former star who was run out of Dallas.

Huet, under Dallas's D would have been run out of town with torches and pitchforks.



Niemi, under Dallas's D would have looked...probably equal to Kiprusoff after Calgary imploded.



Turco, last night when he was played, looked just fine out there, despite playing under a gutted D.

The problem, Sonny, is that you don't respond to anyone's counterpoint. Several here, myself included, have brought up the fact that Turco's save percentage was the same as Niemi's last year, and among the league leaders in this category.



Yet you ignore this and insist he was awful without saying why, other than he let in softies. Then you say he was run out of Dallas. Prove it! Dallas let Modano go, as well, in an attempt to dump salary, nothing more.



Posters with a history of never addressing rebuttals ruin the experience for others, and usually get banned.

Don't put any stock into Turco being "run out" of Dallas. After being named GM, Joey Niewendyk ran/walked Dave Tippett out of Dallas. The Yotes say thank you.

Turco had more saves last year than Niemi saw shots. (not including playoffs)



And if you want to get really crazy, Niemi saw 936 in regular season and 645 in the playoffs. So in 61 games he saw 1581 shots.



Turco saw 1605 shots in 53 regular season games.



I just gotta believe that a good defense does not give up that many shots does it? And that doesn't even include all the shots that don't count because he missed it or it missed hitting the post or things like that. (which I know isn't a big number)
