Re: Preseason GDT: 9/22 Hawks @ Lightning 7:00PM CSN (@Winni

I was at the game.. Sat in row 6 In the hawks end for 2 periods so I got to see the Turco goal that he let in... was a pretty weird play... happened in slow motion... pretty sloppy play... not his fault though in my opinion.. Turco made a pretty amazing save with his face just before that goal....

Makarov looked great... Keith played pretty well again I thought, his ability to make great plays with players all over him is amazing... It showed he doesn't play much with the D-men he was playing with.

The reffing was garbage... that toews roughing call was ridiculous.. I yelled at the reff.

Pisani is going to be good on the PK.. it seems he doesnt play well unless the team is down a man.

I seen the Boynton hit differently as well... Do you really think Boynton would risk fines by threatening that clown if he initiated that knee on knee?

Explain just how the **** he sucked? Please. Since the only fucking goal he gave up was the one Cullimore mis played. He stopped 12 out of 13 shots and the only one going in was the one his d man misplayed. Yea he sucked arlight. I'm thinking he's not the one that sucks Sonny.

As for the knee, really? Maybe you should watch the OTHER player stick his leg out.

Happy to see a Hawk get his ass kicked? Nice.

So glad Sonny is back. I might have to leave now so I don't have to read dumb ass comments.[/quote]

He looked lost on pucks right around the crease area. Got bailed out by a post on one and had trouble corraling a few more.

And yes, I was happy to see Boynton get his ass kicked for that leg on leg. And on, the other player did not stick his leg out, he was the one skating with the puck. Boynton got beat and stuck his leg out to try and recover. It was textbook knee on knee. No other way to see that unless you are wearing your homer glasses.

So all we hear about is how god awful the hawks are going to be since the dismantling, but anytime anyone gets a win "WE BEAT THE CHAMPS" is going to be sung from the rafters. Which is it fucko's. Are we good or are we not.

I know I don't understand this game as well as some of you, but what I saw was the lightning player coming around with the puck, he saw Boynton was coming at him, he ditched the puck to the boards, tried to get out of the way and at the last second when he knew he couldn't he went into the air with a higher than normal elbow toward Boynton to try to react to/absorb some of the collision. You can put the post from earlier in full 720p and watch it full screen in slowmo at the end of it. I really don't see what the big deal is. The guy got right back up too. He launched upward and Nick stayed down, it looked more violent than what it was.

Guess you see it different than even the guy who attended the game.

Again I'd rather listen to the dumb ass Mike North and read the dribble you type here. I'm so glad you were able to re join the bandwagon. So at least thats two things you and North have in common.

Obviously. I was suprised to see only four actual starters in the line up. But when I did see that I thought we'd lose. Too many rookies, especially on D.

For as many NON roster spots they had last night the Hawks played extremely well. Especially in the first 8 minutes or so.

I also thought the officiating was slightly whacked, but when is it not.

As for the goal Turco let in he clearly thought Cullimore was going to play the puck and backed off. Most of us knowing Cullimore would have yelled at Turco to cover it. Not his fault. Both goalies were saved by IRon. That's how hockey works.

Massive hip check aimed at Durno? Absolutely. Intentional knee to knee contact with intent to injure? Absolutely not.

The gesture afterward definately unsportsmanlike conduct and fine worthy.

Sonny... do you ever find it surprising that almost no one agrees or has agreed with your point of view on any subject during your whole tenure on IHN?

I mean are you normal and all of us are just weird?

It doesn't surprise me to see so many starters rested. 1. They earned it. B.) With as many open spots as their are, they need to get as much live NHL action for these kids as possible before they send them somewhere. Glad to see them do well. I would keep playing as many as possible till you are sure they should be sent somewhere.

I, like chaps, was there and it was pretty evident that he stuck his leg out. Got his ass kicked and deservedly so but I wouldn't say I enjoyed seeing him getting his ass kicked.

And if having a .928 save percentage sucks in your first game in almost 6 months, I'd hate to see what he'd be like if he actually plays well.

See I didn't see it that way on either replay. If anything the Lightning guy went it with his leg out.

Either way there was no intention on Boynton, period. You don't wish your own player gets his ass kicked, especially knowing there was no way Boynton was trying to hurt anyone. Dumb ass comment.

I also wouldn't say he got his ass kicked. Both got shots in and boynton took one that made him bleed. Having your ass kicked would be more than one shot IMO.

Considering some of the people here like Jacko, Ymono, myself, and of course bri (;)), i think that's a fair assessment.

But who the hell would want to be normal?

Anyhow, back on topic: I thought Turco looked excellent. I can't wait for the D an he to get in sync...could you imagine him feeding Campbel or Keith with an outlet pass while they're going full-tilt? Would be an adrenaline rush to our transition game.

Imagine when he has a dman in front of him?? I mean the lightening iced 4 of their top 6 forwards and we had Keith out there.

I'm waiting to hear why Turco sucked last year. If that's the case, then Niemi also sucked 'cause their stats were similar.

Save percentages from five goalies last year. Let's see how many can distinguish Turco, niemi, and three others. I don't give a shit who had more wins or a better GAA cause thats indicative of the team they play on not how well they're playing.

Goalie 1: .911

Goalie 2: .912

Goalie 3: .921

Goalie 4: .905

Goalie 5: .913

Turco was .913 or .912. The other one was Niemi.

Turco faced 12 shots more per game.
