Solid press conference. Refreshing that every answer wasn't in "coach-speak"...

Well I'll be damned, the Bears actually hired a guy who hasn't had his personality surgically removed.

Maybe there is hope after all...

didnt they show Reid calling the plays though? Or was that the first half?

No they showed that Reid had the card with all the plays on it so people just assumed that he was calling plays but couldn't even figure out that of course he'd want that card so he knew what plays his OC was calling...SMDH. They both had play cards.

Asked Nagy about the play calling in the second half Saturday: "I called every single play in the second half.”

Owned the mistakes he made, used the word “failure” and promised he's going to learn from it.

Very impressive response.

For some reason after watching that presser Nagy reminds me of Mickey Callaway.

The Bears should be able to bring some high profile wide receivers to the team when free agency starts now that we have an offensive minded coach, they definitely have the cash to do so.

I'll do no such thing... especially if you want it.

I'm sure he only said that to get the pressure off of coach Reid.
I'm sure he was being honest... and that's a good thing. Reid is the one who would joke about it and say stuff like Matt called all the good plays and I called all the bad ones.

In reality nobody can expect things to go great all the time. Plays always look much better when they work but they don't always work and sometimes they just work cause a player makes a stellar play.

Didn't sound too confident about Fangio though. I mean he didn't really say much about it but it still made me feel like he could be leaving. I don't know why but it did.

He was fairly non-committal about everyone. Which is really how he should be at this stage. Come in with an open mind, and make the best decisions based on a thorough evaluation.

I was reading some stuff on the Chief's board...and they were totally convinced that it was Reid. Like a night and day difference in the style etc. FWIW.
It still could have been. But Reid helps his coaches who go on to be HCs with their coaching staffs, and might be wiser to take that bullet for Andy so that he still is willing to be that resource.

First time Im confident in a Bears coach since Ditka back in the 80s

The guy seems intelligent and passionate about football

That he is an ex player is a plus

Being straight up honest and owning it vs. taking the bullet out of loyalty...either way I'm good w/ it.

670 the Score will have it live and streaming, but you'll have to deal with Bernstein talking over the whole press conference, so I'd choose a different stream if possible.

Surprisingly he didn't today. Him and the idiot next to him did, of course, immediately react to the press conference by saying how badly he came across, as you'd expect them to do. But they mercifully stfu during it for the most part.
