Adam Dunn believes he will be a Nat next year as he wants to stay a Nat and the Nats still want him. They're expected to talk again after the World Series in the 2 week period where they can still talk and be the only ones to talk to Dunn.

Jim Hendry is expected to interview Bob Brenly right after the season comes to an end.

Koyie Hill and Welington Castillo will finish out the last 13 games as the catching duo. But, if one can't go, the Cubs will call-up catcher Robinson Chirinos.

The Sun-times reports, Mike Quade "looks like a favorite to land the full-time Cubs managing job with every new Midas-touch move he pulls off." Not liking that.

Tom Gorzelanny and Jeff Samardzija are out of options and can't be sent down come next year. Expect rumors of Gorzo to pick up again. While, Jeff had a NTC and don't expect him to be traded this winter. Who give him a NTC???? Oh...that's right JH. He could not be with the Cubs next year, if he does not make the team out of ST.

The Dodgers and Ted Lilly will talk about a new contract when the season comes to an end. The Dodgers will like to "retain" his services and Lilly is open to it. I expect them to figure out a contract before he hits the FA market.

Tyler Colvin is doing well and he had to say this "I want to thank Cubs fans for their support all season, especially right now, and let everyone know that I'm doing OK. I also want to thank everyone who has helped take care of me here in Miami, the Cubs and Marlins training and medical staffs, the EMTs at the ballpark and everyone here at the hospital.

You never want to have a season end early, and I'm disappointed that I'm not going to be able to make it through the finish line with the rest of my teammates. That being said, I couldn't be more thankful for the Cubs organization, my teammates and the opportunity to play for Cubs fans my rookie season. Thank you from the bottom of my heart."

Also, Soto's 1 hour procedure went well and he should be ready for spring training.

That's it for now....thoughts?

I am sick and fucking tired about hearing about Jim Hendry giving out NTC's.

You act like he is the only one who ever gives them out.

Hendry doesnt give Samardjiza the contract he does, he goes to the NFL. Its pretty simple, and there shouldn't be a problem with it.

NTC only become an issue when the player starts sucking.

I have to admit, I'm coming around to making Quade the manager next season. Not because of the winning, but because, when he isn't treating certain players like children, he seems to have a clue.

He likes the players, the players like him, and he would keep the pressure of the team next season.

Of course, all the changes if the Yankees odd season end continues. The anti-Girardi camp there is growing...

I don't care about any other NTC JH gave out....but this one is dumb as hell. He gives it to a player who had not proven his self. That's what I hate. Jeff might of been good but oh well, he wasn't and that failed. That's all I'm saying. I don't care about Soriano, Z, Ramirez or Kosuke but this one bugs me a lot.

The point more or less is that Hendry has given NTC's to players that don't deserve them.. or for the matter earned them in the first place..

Not saying your wrong.. The point is so much more broad though.

More Quick Hits by Bruce Levine:

The Cubs want a big LH bat this offseason and have their eyes on Adam Dunn, Carlos Pena and Victor Martinez. The Nats want to keep Dunn but he still expects to hit the Market.

The Cubs will try with their best effort to make Andrew Cashner a starter next year.

With Big Z pitching like an ace, it is likely he will be traded in the offseason.

We can expect Brett Jackson get called up come May or June next year.

Everyone is available via trade besides Castro and Cashner.

Levine thinks the manager race will come down to Quade and Sandberg. Sandberg is expected to interview for the job in 2 days.

Again, Levine says Hudson will be the Cubs starting 2B come next year and hit in the top of the order.

Levine speculates the Yanks could make a play for Marmol because Rivera is soon to retire.

Thoughts?

Is Bruce Levine going to pay Hudson and Dunn? He likes to spend money that isn't there. Last year he kept saying they would try and sign Figgins, which they never had the money for. So I would take that talk with a grain of salt.

They have enough money for both, but I don't see Dunn in Cubbie blue next year. I see Pena over Dunn for some odd reason.

That's funny because I said the same thing when I saw it. I never really thought about it either. I agree, he could be a good pickup.

My Special person brother is a Red Sox fan, so he'd be pissed if the Cubs "stole" V-Mart. Makes it all that much better.

^^^ A red Sox fan, ugh. WTF????? How'd that happen?

He would be a nice pickup, I think even better than Dunn and Pena but I expect the Red Sox to re-sign him.

Yes via team choices. You better convince to be Cubs fan because they're missing out on a lot and the most fun.

Waldo, you can over and try to convince them... because surely that would put a good impression of Cubs fans on them.

I've try to convince Sox fans to become Cub fans and that's hard as hell. Most of the people at my work are Sox fans and I give them shit all the time and they do the same with me.
