Like moving Brett Jackson to right field...

At some point the Cubs will realize how dumb the role shifting is. The whole Z thing should have been their wakeup call.

Jay Jackson did the "bullpen test" this year, and it basically fucked up 2 months of his season.

Look what happened when Samardzija finally got a stable role. I still don't think he's any good, but once they committed to him being a starter, he at least produced solid results.

Exacltly! This proves my point completely.

I'm not going to pretend like I know anything about Archer, or any of our pitching prospects for that matter. But as of right now, we don't need starting pitchers, we need relief. And I don't think Cashner has been "ruined," he's holding his own and minus a few bad games, he's been pretty good.

And regardless of his current trend, Samardzija sucks. He's fooling us right now, but he'll make the roster next year and get routine colonoscopies.

If Samardzija does not make the teams next year, he will probably be gone. A team will most likely claim him. I know the O's have had interest in him over the last 2 years.

Isn't Samardzija out of options? So he has to make the team.

I meant after they get a 1B and what money that have left. If they go into the season with what they have now, the Cubs are in tons of trouble. And, no Grabow deal or any deal close to that. That was just DUMB and look how it paid off. It paid off like one of the best deals in the 2010 season.

How are we in "tons" of trouble? Next year we are going to have

Marmol, Marshall, Maine, Russell, Grabow(No way he is as bad as he was this year), Diamond, and I see us signing Kerry Wood too.

We also have Casey Coleman, Caridad, Schlitter, Stevens, Gray, Blake Parker, etc.

We really don't need to go out and sign a RP, it's a waste of money.

lol at waldo thinking he knows everything.

The Cubs don't need RP signings, maybe one or two "imports", that's it, no more, but I don't think we need ANY. Most of the pitchers seem to be getting more used to pitching at the MLB level and are getting better.

^^^^Please not Russell....Maine should take his spot as the other lefty in the pen. I'm not so sure about Diamond.

I think thye Yanks re-sign K-Wood. He's pitching lights out for the Yanks. But, if the Cubs did sign Wood, I would be fine with the Cubs RP's going into the season. Then, if there are troubles with the RP, go out and trade for some then without giving up valueable spects.

Coleman could be good, I like Caridad but he did not pitch good and even in the minors, Schlitter needs to find another pitch then a FB, Stevens has looked mgood and bad so I'll be fine with him to start the season (he has look good but when he gets sent down and called up, he sucks for some reason), I haven't seen much of Gray at the major league level but I've seen his stats in the minors, I would rather just say yes or no when I see him in ST, I don't know about Parker because he was demoted from AAA to AA because of his pitching so we'll see.

P.S. I hope the Cubs sign Wood, I would love to see him in Cubbie blue again.

The RP are getting better but I still don't feel good with them in the pen. It looks like shit on paper. However, I do like Maine.

RP that I like right now: Marmol, Marshall, Cash (maybe if stays RP), Maine, I don't like Grabow but he will be there, RP, Coleman. So, I think the Cubs just need RP this offseason and I WANT the Cubs to sign WOOD.
