Stay strong. Stay busy. Do lots of...moderating type things.

Day 4 for me. I have found that my ecig works ok to tide me over. I dont really like it, so it will be easy to put that thing down after another week or so.

Dear Quit Smoking Journal,

3 strong IPA's in and holding steady. Cravings totally manageable. E-cig around for backup.

How I feel right now:

2 more IPAs. A bowl. And another IPA.

Drinking a glass of water, enjoying my e-cig.

Easy. I got this!!

Good luck Nvan !!! I have no problem not smoking at work or when I am doing things around the house. I don't even think of cigs in those situations. Now when I am drinking or I am driving (not both) I tend to smoke like a chimney. It's clearly all mental and wish I could stop completely.

Day 2. I want a cigarette pretty bad, but I'm ignoring it. Gonna grab the e-cig and head outside to my normal smoking spot. Hoping that kills the craving.

Day 3. Still haven't had a cigarette. The e-cig is a nice safety net so far, but I agree AuCN...think it will be pretty easy to put down after I get through the next few weeks. A month at the most. Setup my auto withdrawal thingy. If all goes to plan, next year at this time I'll have about 2.5k of "quit smoking money". It's fucking insane how expensive smoking is.

Good luck NVAN!

dip (pouches) are the monkey on my back.
I switched to those when I am hiking around the bush. But kept smoking at night. I love the taste of the pouches but I could stop those tomorrow no problem. Good luck to you though if you are trying to quit them. Day 6 here. Holding strong. Triathlon tomorrow. So I am sure I will need the Ecig for after race drinks.

Day 4. Weekend. Gotta keep myself occupied. Was bothering me less during the week for the most part, pretty sure because my work week tends to be insanely busy. Time to do some shit around the house I suppose.

Quit 5 days ago. Help from an ecig but only a few puffs a day. I'm surprisingly mellow now that I'm past the three day hump.

I hadn't checked this thread but I'm pleased to join the club, nvan. Keep it up!

It's funny you said that. Earlier today I went to the grocery store and someone was standing outside smoking a cigarette. I didn't think my sense of smell would improve that quick, but I could smell it a mile away...and it smelled completely disgusting. I don't want to be "that" ex-smoker...e.g. smoke for decades and then talk shit immediately after quitting, but the smell was awful.

Anyways...cleaned the pool, cleaned my car, did some laundry and played with my 5 yr old daughter for a bit. 2 hr+ long Easter egg hunt. Inside the house. In June. Why the **** not?

When I was cleaning out my car I found a pack with one lonely cigarette in it. No one would know. I could smoke just that one later on after a few beers and that would be it. But **** that! Been here before, that one will turn into a pack that I only take one out of every few days, which turns into buying a pack every day again. I shredded that ****** into 100 pieces and threw it away. It felt good.

It's been pretty easy for me too. Last few times I tried I was a fucking maniac. I think it's a combination of maturity, really wanting to quit and having the e-cig around for backup. Cool that 3 people here are all on the path within a few days of each other. Also will check out the red wine thing. I enjoy it from time to time anyways...usually when I'm making steak.

I found one in my sock drawer and was all wtf, my wife must be trying to test me. I showed it to her and she said "you've gone 3 days and given up already?" I broke it in half and threw it in the fire place and was about to cuss her out for punking me but she wasn't the culprit. It was a pretty tense moment because she was pissed, I was pissed and then it was like,

i just beat cigs for real and passed a temptation from satan himself...
