My favorite teams
Smoked for 20 years and quit 13 years ago.....waking up coughing in the middle of the night and when I got up in the morning drove me crazy. I had attempted to quit a few times...a couple times I actually went a few months using plastic fake cigarettes but would always fall for the same pathetic mind games that you constantly play with yourself. Everyone is different but I just couldn't buy into gum or lozenges as it always seemed I was breaking one addiction to start another. So for me, cold turkey was the only way. The single most important thing I finally realized was that I was giving into my own mind games....the time I spent putting the cigarettes down and starting back up was a complete waste. Every time I did that, I had to start all over again. I finally decided that I wouldn't give up what I had accomplished....so every time the mind games would start, I would tell myself "**** you, I not giving up the two weeks I just went without smokes". Eventually, the longer you stretch it out...the easier it gets. I'm not going tell you it was easy but if you can control your own thought process...it is not as hard as you think it is.
