You guys are probably right, but I'll try this for now I guess. I know of many people who were able to complete cigs completely by vaping, I hope I'm one of them. I've cut back by 2/3's already in one day. I know from the past, that once I stop completely I can't ever have even one or it's over.

----------
But how long b4 they stopped vaping?

Plus, how does vaping effect the lungs? You said u had back issues. Can u even ride a stationary bike? Have you thought about using a steam room to help clean your lungs?

Hey this is GREAT NEWS!!!!!

I just looked this up since I never experienced "vaping":

What is popcorn lung from vaping?
The chemicals found in e-cigarette liquid, known as "e-juice," may be a potential cause of popcorn lung. According to the American Lung Association, using electronic cigarettes or vaping, particularly the flavored varieties, can cause popcorn lung. ... However, e-cigarette vapor has been proven to contain diacetyl.Mar 13, 2018

What does diacetyl do to lungs?
Popcorn Lung: A Dangerous Risk of Flavored E-Cigarettes. ... When inhaled, diacetyl causes bronchiolitis obliterans - more commonly referred to as "popcorn lung" - a scarring of the tiny air sacs in the lungs resulting in the thickening and narrowing of the airways.Jul 7, 2016

I think the Vaping thing is one of those that could go either way. We will find out in like 5 years if cases start popping up.

My guess is that it isn't nearly as carcinogenic as smoking, and it doesn't heat the mouth, throat and lungs the way smoking does. At the same time it is still inhaling chemicals and nicotine so it certainly has some effect on the body.

As with anything if it used as a short term crutch to get away from cigarettes, not a long term replacement it is probably not going to have some major negative long term consequence.

Well If u looked at the vaping info. I looked up. It says vaping is dangerous bcuz of inhaling diacetyl. I never vaped. That's why I asked Tater how long it took his friends to
get off vaping.

Also....that why in my earlier post, I suggested he look into the effects of vaping. In other words don't guess or speculate. Just do the research. I can't speak on vaping. But, as a x-smoker, I can speak on cig smoking.

Yeah, I know vaping is a crutch

Definitely source your juices for vaping. I vaped for 6 years and quit that too. Use the right juices and you don't need to worry as much, huge step up vs smoking. Things like diacetyl were a concern for a few months back in 2011 or so, and as soon as juice makers caught wind, they started to phase and replace quickly, yet, it gets brought up a lot. Don't you wish they took edge cases like that and applied them evenly across all products? Like all the shit that gets dumped into tap water(which makes its way into bottled water too), even to this day. There was also this juice maker in China that used source glycerin that was contaminated with antifreeze back in 2009, trying to sell gallons of juice for the same price as a medium-good quality 30ml bottle. That gets brought up as well, but it's simply just ammunition for people who paint with broad brush strokes and don't offer heavily addicted smokers realistic solutions.

Definitely this. I realize probably not completely without effects, but heck, there's no tar or as much heat and a hell of a lot cheaper.
@Run&Shoot: As to how long it took others to quit after vaping , not sure

My buddy used vaping to quit. The best part is that he dropped cigarettes instantly.....bad part was it took him about 2 years to get off vaping. It's just another swap of addictions, though they are better for you and cheaper than cigarettes are. I'm sticking with cold turkey.....once you beat it, you are done. No secondary addictions to beat. I did it, there's no reason why you can't. No pain, no gain....

EXCELLENT POINT!

That's what I was trying to find out from Tater ( how long did it take his friends to stop vaping....not stop smoking cigs)

Exactly, that's ultimately the way I did it. ( toward the end, I bought my own tobacco, which has less additive chemicals). But cold turkey is best way.

Please do your own research on vaping. (See my post to Diehardfan )

Also, u said u have back issues, but can u sit and ride a stationary bike?
What can u do and / or have tried for your physical / lung health?

Can u do steam? I keep mentioning steam bcuz it really cleanses the lungs and u can feel the healthy sensation when ya take a deep breath. It helped me a lot

I love going in the steam, but can't afford a health club membership due to medical bills.
