Why is this not stickied and the minor league thread is? Season is over.

That's what I just did. Jeepers! It is the one that hasn't been posted in in the longest, so it made sense for that one to go, since this thread is "in season"

A trade that would never happen, but a thought:

Cubs get:
3B Michael Young
2 prospects

Rangers get:
LF Alfonso Soriano
3B Josh Vitters
10M

The Rangers want to shed payroll, and they kinda do, but not much. Soriano can be their DH and he would be a good one. The Rangers will get more money, but Young is a FA one year ealier. They want to shed payroll for Cliff Lee and if they can't get Lee, they could go after Greinke. Then Vitters will go in the Greinke deal.

Now the Cubs perspective, Brett Jackson will have a spot on the team and the Cubs can then trade Ramirez now or at the deadline. That will also save money then. The Cubs payroll would have drop and they would be in good shape.

Like I said this WILL NOT happen, but I'm all for it.

Thoughts?

You have to do that trade, lol. But it will never happen, and you acknowledged that.

We should have been trading these kind of players 3 years ago for Adam Dunn

A deal possibly being imminent and examine the pros and cons, the likelihood, etc.

I gotta do dishes soon, or I'd do it myself.

I wouldn't trade Byrd for either of those guys to be honest.

I mean, I would like to keep Byrd but he's older and he won't have a good year like last year. This trade helps more than having Byrd in the lineup.

I don't get why people are so sure Byrd won't be good again. His average has climbed up every year, his power did go down from 2 seasons ago though.

He'll have a good year...don't get me wrong.

I say .284, 14hr, and 87rbi.

That's almost better than this year. AVG is a tad lower (.007), but that is more HR and RBI.
