Finally watched Braveheart in one sitting. Always saw bits and parts on tv. Very good movie but apparently it's one of the most historically inaccurate movie of all time.

10/10

I probably missed it, was the new Blade Runner good? I fucking love the original, so...

Chances are you'll probably like the new one then.

I saw it in 4D (lolwtf) and it was a fucking weird experience. Seat was moving and turning at random scenes. Smoke, air shooting at your face, etc. So I was distracted in some parts and need to see it again.

From what I remember, it was pretty good for the most part. Felt like it was stronger visually/artistically than it was story wise. It's kinda slow in the beginning but once Ford shows up the pace starts to pick up.

I'd agree with Xuder that Jared Leto was pretty underwhelming and forgettable.

Is Lady Bird as good as critics say? It’s just making its way over in my area this weekend and due to all the buzz it was getting I was debating whether or not to see it

I have The Force Awakens playing in the background. It's depressing how much The Last Jedi pales in comparison.

I think TLJ is better than TFA..but that's JMO

The new Blade Runner is cinematically beautiful and greatly expands upon the dark-quasi-Japanese LA crafted by Ridley Scott in the OG. I liked it quite a bit, but there were definitely a few issues.

Jared Leto is definitely one of them.

I think Villeneuve completely missed the PK Dick aspect of the story. Seems to happen a lot with his work.

I just watched a bunch of the Channel 4 PK Dick's Electric Dreams, and some of these writers have changed the stories so much, that they completely move away from any sense of what Dick was getting at in his stories.

The new Bladerunner to me is just a set up for more sequels.

This is my biggest problem with the movie as a stand alone. There's not enough closure.

I have no idea why I did this, but I watched Django Unchained. Is Tarantino 14 years old?

Lol at that. There were some very good aspects to the film, as most Tarantino films have, but I don't think the film was "guud"

You made it all the way through?

Yes. Like watching an accident.

On another note, the new Churchill film with Gary Oldman is a great comedy. I haven't laughed so hard as I did during the train scene. I couldn't stop laughing for about 10 or 15 minutes.

I love Tarantino movies, Django was not his best work. Being 14 years old was awesome, maybe that's why I like his movies.

That's fair. I think Jackie Brown was his best film, personally. His films are like schticks to me. There can be some really entertaining bits, but as a whole, meh.

He's a wanker.

Please, not that bullshit.

Hateful 8 was just as bad. IMO.

That doesn't mean I think you and number51 are wrong, or dumb, or any shit like that.

I watch his films. They do have some entertainment value in them. I guess the best word I can use to describe what I feel about his films is jaded.
