Just watched Annihilation at home. Really disappointed in many aspects. Expected better from something Portman would take on.

Speaking of Jackson and Star Wars, she and S Jackson did star wars and never looked more wooden. Samuel Jackson being wooden is a enormous feat of direction.

If you haven't heard of it, it's a noir except everyone is in high school. Very interesting from a story and cinematography perspective. Written and directed by Rian Johnson, JGL is the main guy.

Solo 8.3/10
I thought it was actually pretty good. I was worried that Alden(?) was going to make Han seem too different than he was in the OT, but you see how he grows, changes, etc. by the end. Solid cast overall(Donald Glover, Woody Harrelson, Thandie Newton, Paul Bettany, etc.)

I thought Solo was really dull. The motivations, goals, and actions taken by the main characters were just odd. I never really felt like anyone cared about anything they were doing in the movie. It was like they'd all rather be somewhere else.

It lacked the weight of something like Rogue One, where everyone was riled up about the rebellion and the stakes were high.

The next two weeks (including this one) look nice. Hereditary, First Reformed and Ocean's 8 this week, and then The Incredibles 2 the next.

Tomb Raider - 5/10

It was aight... some fun/fast-paced action.... but the story was shallow... characters were shallow.

They setup for a sequel, but idk if that will earn investment for a sequel.

I liked the actress playing Lara, but the writing was meh.

I felt like they spent alot of time convincing me she was physically gifted enough and a good enough fighter to pull off stuff she did later in the movie.

The story felt a bit like game missions transplanted into script form.... idk if they did that, but it doesn't work.... two different mediums.... the story telling/writing has to be done differently.

I love Richard Dawson and thought he made a great bad guy. This is a shoot em up Arnold movie so I got exactly what I wanted. :)

Leap 2/5
Watched it as a family movie. It had some moments, but some really awful ones too. Seemed to take a lot of twists from Disney movies for me

Bull Durham 1/5
Now this could all be on me for not seeing this until about two weeks ago, but I thought it was terrible. I'd rather watch Major League 2.

Spaceballs 4/5
Stupid parody that always entertains me...May the Schawrtz be with you

Meh, it was a fun movie, but so many things were just wrong when you think about it...
I liked the monster design.

This movie is better the less you think about it. It doesn't hold up under any serious scrutiny.

Deadpool 2

7.5/10
I am a pretty skeptical movie goer but I lold a bunch. The new character played by Brolin was good. The x-men stuff sort of drags.

Finally got around to watching Thor: Ragnarok since it came out on Netflix... it was ok... I was expecting more. The whole "lets make the whole movie a giant joke" thing seemed out of place coupled with the 1st two movies. I was hoping for more of the Dark World feel for action and all.

Entertaining, but meh.

Oceans 8 was alright. More of my girls thing. I thought it was on par with solo...an ok movie that’s forgettable. Sandra Bullock definitely brings charm

The last movie I saw was The Shape Of Water. That was back in February while vacationing in Thailand. It was not a bad movie, but I did not think it was anything special.

I'd give it a 6.5/10
