Looks like I'm going to be wrong about my opening weekend prediction. I bet Sony is happy because it looks like Jumanji may have strong legs like the last one did thanks the the reviews. I've heard Rise of Skywalker is trash. Decent amount of people even saying it's the worst Star Wars movie ever made.

It’s sad that I’m so indifferent about a movie for a franchise that was so important to my child hood.
Yeah I’m with you on that one. More than anything I’m just sick of the constant social passing match of TLJ fans and "haters" You can tell some of the reviews for ep 9 are people who loved TLJ and are shitting on this because i guess it may go away from shit Rian Johnson set up. Then there's people who love it because of that. It's all so exhausting. It doesn't feel like many people are being honest with their reviews and it's more about them just making social statements that are expected from them.

With that being said, i really hope it's good because i'd like for this saga to go out on a high note in my eyes. I look forward to some of the non-Skywalker stuff they'll put out moving forward.

I think Disney recently said they aren’t planning anymore trilogies(obviously a lie from Disney). A lot of the non skywalker stuff looks like it’s going to be on Disney+. I just hope the Ken obi series with Ewan is going to be good. Apparently a Darth Vader series is in the works too. For whatever reason they seem to be trending away from the big screen and to the small screen (I think that might be a good thing too).

I saw that too. I kind of feel like you have to try to make a movie worse than TLJ, Phantom Menace, and Attack of the Clones.

Also in regards to this sequel trilogy, Disney had a perfectly good one already made in the Thrawn series. Instead they decide to bring him into Cannon for a few seasons on their “Rebels” show and kill him off in a stupid death like 2 seasons later.

theyll do more. Maybe just not anytime soon. I thought they were working on a KOTOR trilogy but it was originally supposed to be by Rian Johnson. No chance that’s gonna happen now. The biggest mistake they made with the new trilogy was not having it all written at once and by the same person/group of people.

While TFA wasn’t great, it at least introduced cool characters I was interested in. TLJ cocked over and took a shit on all of that. Rise of Skywalker is damage control IMO.

I haven’t read spoilers but based on the reactions I’ve seen, that’s what it looks like. I really liked TFA, though it seemed so unoriginal. It felt like a long needed pallet cleanser from the prequal trilogy

I actually liked TFA too. People say it was too much like a New Hope but I don’t necessarily think that’s a bad thing. Star Wars turns to shit really quick when it strays too far from its roots.

Disagree. It was a cookie cutter version of a New Hope which is completely unoriginal. It felt like a remake lol. It's amazing to me that such a dominant franchise with limitless resources makes such sub par movies. It's just crazy that Marvel can crank out quality superhero movie after movie and Star Wars can't get one modern movie right lol.

Stars Wars has roots that extend extremely far. Star Wars not just the original trilogy. You don't have to look any further than The Mandolarian to see what some creative minds can do with the franchise (even though that could use some work too).

The difference is leadership

marvel hired a fan to run the show who used source material

Lucas film hired a nut job that from day one said they aren’t following anything George Lucas has provided in notes and won’t follow cannon or eu

So just saw the Rise of Skywalker, and imo, it wasn't the WORST Star Wars, it was the 2nd worst. However, if people want to argue that it was the worst, I'm fine with that too.

Abrams did an admirable job in attempting to "fix" things, but other than that, the movie was bad. I have no idea how they simply allowed this trilogy to become a product of 2 competing visions. There's no continuity from TFA to TLJ to TROS, and that results in 3 disjointed movies that are almost stand alone films rather than a trilogy that's centered on the same story.

The trilogy should've had 1 director.

Episode 9 was a mess. They had so much crammed in this movie. I thought the Leia stuff was just trash. There are several other things that I thought were pure trash as well, but I don't want to spoil anything. I just thought it was a bad movie.

Lmao Universal is putting out an “improved” version of Cats with “better” CGI. I’m surprised anyone thought this would be a good idea. I don’t know what they think will make it better, they looked horrifying. Something that should have never been made.

Ya'll just need to let this Star Wars bullshit go. It peaked in the 70s. Proud to say I haven't spent a fucking dime on it and haven't seen one of the new ones since they started making this shit in the early 00s. **** Star Wars. LOL.
