I remember watching Once Upon A Time in America long ago (twice), and have planned to again since it is on Netflix. But it is very long. I should break it into episodes and I will be fine. ?
It is damn long!
Speaking of netflix, they have a crime movie subset with many good hits.
I just watched Scorceses "Mean streets" I hadn't seen that one in many years.

gonna be honest, rewatched Goodfellas and Cape Fear a couple weekends ago while hungover after a friend's birthday party blowout, and concluded that Scorsese might be just a little overrated. Hear me out: I loved Goodfellas as a kid, and Mean Streets before that, but he really could have just stopped at Mean Streets. Everything after that was either a repeat of the same thing (Casino sucked) or some bizarre, operatic bullshit (Gangs of New York, the Aviator).

Circling back, we started drinking whenever Ray Liotta said 'KAREN!' during Goodfellas and the Cape Fear remake was just fucking terrible.

I like most of his films. I thought Shutter Island was cool and I dug Gangs of New York. It painted an insightful portrait of what America was like in the 1860s in New York City.

That said, Taxi Driver never "spoke" to me. I never got the hype around that one. I also thought Wolf of Wall Street was terrible.

Let us know what you think of the Irishman.

I watched main streets on Netflix recently -maybe six months ago -and frankly came away thinking I had remembered it more fondly than it deserved. I love the early Scorsese and Dinero movies but main streets just was kind of blah to me.

Saw Marriage Story last night, and I gotta say, I don't get the hype. It was just so bland to me. The acting was good for the most part, but I don't understand why this movie got 7 Globe nominations.

Dark Waters was very good. I thought it was paced very well. This is something that could have been boring but I found myself fully engaged the whole time. Mark Ruffalo is probably at his best( I never thought he was that good of an actor) and Anne Hathaway is pretty damn good in this one. I was really young in 1998(the year the movie starts out in) so I wasn't aware of what was going on at that time. It definitely puts things into perspective. Shit you don't even think about or think a company wouldn't do. Pretty scary stuff when you think about it.

Netflix 4 part series "the movies that made us".

I saw two parts so far: Dirty Dancing and Ghostbusters. They are both "the making of...", and it's done well. Very interesting and entertaining. The documentary doesn't cover how the movie "made us", or affected the culture or future films, it's just "the making of", from script selling, casting, locations, how they got along, etc.

I watched the episode on Home Alone. I got a kick out of eharing that Chris Columbus pulled off Christmas Vacation because Chevy Chase was such an asshole.

Until I watched this I never knew they shot Home Alone inside the same HS where The Breakfast Club was filmed.

Watched 6 Underground on Netflix yesterday. I'd give it a 7/10. I was entertained. I saw that it got a lot of negative reviews, but I don't know what people were expecting with a Michael Bay movie. If you like his movies, you will definitely enjoy this one. Just the first 20 minutes are very Michael Bay on cocaine. Only way you can be disappointed is if you have never seen a Michael Bay movie and are expecting oscar worthy performances from Ryan Reynolds and the rest of the cast. This is a movie you thow on when you're bored and don't want to think too much. For better or worse, it's the most Michael Bay movie you'll ever see....even more than Transformers.

I have no excitement for it at all. I think I’m going to wait until it’s on Disney +
Only reason I've been catching all of the new star wars movies midnight showing opening night is because it's become a tradition with a group of my friends since the force awakens, and we have a lot of fun, otherwise I wouldn't bother at all.

you know they're going to make like 3 sequels after this movie, right? lol. I expect it. haha. But yea, it wasn't the greatest movie, but it kept me from boredom.
I thought it was just too silly at times. But many people loved the movie. It’s just one of those you either loved it or hated it flicks.

Also saw Uncut Gems last night. Idk if it's out on theaters or available for streaming yet, but my sister in law sent me a link for it and I absolutely loved the movie. I'd give it a 8.5/10. This is probably the best acting job I've seen from Adam Sandler. He deserves an award for that acting performance. Those last 30 minutes had me at the edge of my seat. Would recommend watching it. It's a good movie.
