Saw A Complete Unknown this evening.

I thought it was really, really good and the performances were outstanding.

Timothee Chalamet as Dylan, Edward Norton as Pete Seeger and Monica Barbaro as Joan Baez not only were very good acting their parts, but all did their own music. Really good look at a short but significant period in Dylan's career rather than trying to capture a lifetime in a couple hours.

Easy to see why all three are nominated for Academy Awards.

September 5 was a well made movie.

Story of ABC's coverage of the 1972 Olympic hostage and murder situation in Munich. It doesn't take the broader view of the political issues at hand, but rather focuses only on ABC's coverage which turned out to be the first time the world viewed a terrorist situation on live TV, and was covered by the Sports dept.

It was also refreshing to see someone make a movie and not feel it needs to be a marathon.

Completely agree with this. Was very skeptical going in, but it was probably the most enjoyable movie I saw all year. I saw it twice.

But 10/10? Seriously? If Superman is a 10 then what is something like Citizen Kane? I can’t in good conscience put those two films in the same category.

Me neither because I would give "Kane" a 7, but I personally think Orson Welles was kinda overrated. Give me Hitchcock or Wilder over Welles.

I guess what I’m saying is I need you to be better. Stop willy nilly throwing around 10’s all generously and shit. Superman is a fine film. It’s not a 10/10 though. Superman and The Godfather don’t belong in the same category. It’s great for what it is, but it’s a popcorn superhero movie.

It is a popcorn superhero movie, but it's the best one...the one that set the template. Is it a ten compared to every movie ever? No, but it is the only superhero popcorn movie I am giving a perfect score.

Also Superman & The Godfather were both written by the same man, so they are more closely related than you are giving them credit for.

Superman 10/10. Kane 7/10. Got it.

Watched the 2024 Count of Monte Cristo. It's in french.

9/10 great movie but it's really long obviously. Just visually beautiful and of course the story is all time.

It's not a movie per se but I finally got around to watching The Wire at 35. After Breaking Bad I've got it as my #2 series I've ever watched.
