Sure, what happened in Ottawa was just a misunderstanding....................

I would say it was the coaches fault. You don't allow him to get away with murder for two years because the team is winning, then once the team starts losing, throw him under the bus. It should have been addressed when he was a rookie, not once the team started losing.

I can't see Salak getting the job over Emery. I was impressed with Emery this past season. I'm actually surprised he was still available. Emery > Turco was at the backup spot last year.

For **** sakes he played 10 NHL regular season games and then was lit up and buried alive in the 6 playoff games against a defense first Preds team that somehow ended up looking like the 84 Oilers offense. How you can be impressed with that is beyond me. He did play well (not great) in the 10 regular season games but just crap in those playoff games.

And Turco was brought in to mentor Crawford more than anything. Turco > Emery in that department hands down. Hawks did NOT have a goalkeeping issue last year..so why even bother with the Turco shit. Goalkeeping was probably concern #30 on the list of 30 concerns.

I was an Emery fan at one point and probably still am (and I have no real idea why other than the one good run he had with the Sens he has always been pretty average, he was just an interesting character that I probably got sucked into) and I think he has a great shot at making the backup position here but damn a 10 game season is nothing to really judge a guy on esp after being slaughtered in 6 playoff games where it matters most (and I don't mean to hang that all on him but it doesn't help looking like crap during that series).

Your gonna hang the loss of the playoff series on just the goalie? For a guy who only had 10 games of work you want to hold a .897 save percentage, a 2.83 goals against, and allowing 12 even strength goals as the reason the Ducks lost the series against the Preds?

Damn I thought this was a team sport?
