Oh I don't know, you can usually tell about people's personalities and intelligence just from how they post.

I suppose so (worried about the implications for myself at this point...). I guess I just was commenting on how different your background was from what I would have guessed (English not being your first language, also guessing you are older than I had pegged as well). Certainly isn't a bad thing, but that was what I was trying to get at (rather poorly I am sure).

I read on ESPN Chicago today that it might not be a bad move to get Ryno on as AAA coach, and when the Cubs aren't leading the division by the ASG, fire (or move) Quade and promote Ryno. That was Cubs fans are kept happy knowing moves are being made, and no one gets frustrated when Ryno doesn't lead us to a 70-18 start.

Kinda makes sense. :dunno:

Nah, wasn't talking about anyone in particular. Just normal internet stuff, you have the contributors, and then you have the trolls and idiots. Comes with the territory :D

I don't think it's a rule, though I'm sure Joe wants it to be. ;)

Is it sad to agree with Joe on this one though because as much as I love to use sarcasm without any indicators it is hard to use effectively here?

I personally think sarcasm is best when nobody can detect it. Who is Joe?

Aside from the green font, I don't really know another way. A lot of people take sarcasm as fact and use it to throw around insults.

But unfortunately, that happens even without sarcasm.

I'm not sold on Ryno being a Theo guy. Wanting a guy to be the manager of a AAA club is a lot different than wanting him to be your big league manager. It makes all the sense in the world from a PR standpoint to bring in Ryno, and I would like to see him in the organization since he was a childhood hero of mine. That said, Quade getting to play out the string makes a lot of sense for Theo as well if he is truly just biding his time for contracts to come off the books.

Captain Serious. I agree to a point about sarcasm, and I certainly enjoy saying ridiculous things with a completely straight-face (that might be one true skill to be honest). However, it loses something over the internet when implied meanings can be lost so easily.

I think people take themselves too seriously. Have a bit of fun :D

So I was just thinking that in 2010, Sandberg took essentially the same group of Iowa Cubs (with Sam Fuld) and got them almost to the AAA playoffs. Then in 2011, he left and that core of Iowa Cubs sucked. Having moved to the IronPigs, and without knowing all that much about the Phillies' system, he got them all the way to that league's championship game before ultimately losing. He may not be experienced per se, and he might not translate this to the majors, but it's hard to argue that he doesn't know how to motivate people and win ball games.
