Timing was everything. Had the shoe been on the other foot, your username would be AirJalen7.

Better player than BG. No matter when it happened. No matter how short it lasted.

his number was 5 so it would be AirJalen5 and i would rank him higher if the shoe was on the other foot because i take in account what a player did for the franchise when it comes to where they rank in franchise history

Jalen being mentioned behind Jordan and Jimmy is laughable atleast say Reggie Theus which is more respectable atleast he spent more than a year and had a couple all-star nods with Chicago

if you think Jalen was the better player thats fine but he wasn't a better Bull...thats fact

Ben Gordon always sucked. An undersized 2-guard who could only move from side to side with the basketball and tunnel-vision for the hoop. He was turnover prone and was a lousy passer.

If you're trying to think of the best 2-guard the Bulls between Michael Jordan and Jimmy Butler, his name is Jalen Rose.

Gordon did suck. He was an undersized bullhog that shot for a low percentage. Jalen rose also sucks. I would not consider him a two guard but if you do he isn't even better than the guy we traded for him ron mercer.

Jalen Rose did nothing for this franchise but put us out of reach of LeBron/Melo/Wade/Bosh and make us endure Kirk Hinrich....its hard to say thats better than a guy that helped bring us out of the dark ages

only Bulls list he should make is worst trades because on top of knocking us down the lotto standings we gave up 2 all-stars with one being a DPOY aswell
The Bulls very well could have still won too many games with Artest and Brad Miller and screwed themselves out of LeBron/Melo/Wade/Bosh regardless.

I should also mention the Rose trade was made a full year before the 2003 NBA Draft.

Rose was also traded away early in the 2002-2003 season.. So his affect on the lotto in 2003 probably is limited.
Feb. 19, 2002 — Acquired Jalen Rose, Travis Best, Norm Richardson and a conditional second-round draft pick from Indiana for Ron Artest, Ron Mercer, Brad Miller and Kevin Ollie.

Dec. 1, 2003 — Traded Lonny Baxter, Donyell Marshall and Jalen Rose to the Toronto Raptors in exchange for Antonio Davis, Chris Jefferies and Jerome Williams.

No. That was never realistic. Nothing but rumors and Kobe using the trade rumors to get the Lakers to do what he wanted them to do.

It was only unrealistic because Kobe said if he came to Chicago Deng would still need to be there.

He did say that, but I also just think Kobe was trying to get the Lakers to do something to improve their team, and thus they did and got Gasol. A trade was never going to happen.

Kobe would not waive his no trade clause if deng was included. You can make the argument that they didn't want to trade deng, gordon, and the pick used to draft Larmcus Aldrige for gasol but even I think it was too much.

Boozer and Deng were both slightly overpaid, but not bad. Actually, you could argue their contracts were spot on.

The funny thing is, Deng started getting a bunch of recognition with Thibs but he had better years before him. Lu went from being slightly underrated and hated on to being slightly overrated. The only reason he got that recognition is because we were winning and he was one of our better players who played a ton of minutes. After we traded him mid-season, we actually improved as a team.

December 2003 would be the 03-04 season

Yeah...Boozer spent his prime as a bad fit. Still started. Still intimidated. He rebouned the shit out of the ball and screamed with the best of him. Lebron is about the only imbocile I ever saw who stood up to him in aggression. He was part of us having the physical respect we did, and nobody ever really got uppity about it, even with Noah and his antics I believe things were always minimal because teams would see Boozer and try to keep everything calm.

I will give Boozer credit...he took a Lebron full speed shoulder to the chest and didn't even flinch.

I know you guys can't be seriously talking about Ben Gordon with fondness. Like....were you guys even watching the bulls back then?

What you had was a 6'4" Kirk Hinrich playing 2 Guards because the 6'3" defensive liability that was Ben Gordon was ill equipped. It doesn't matter if you have a scorer if you don't have anyone to defend his position.

BG was born to play the Vinnie Microwave Johnson role...he is not and has never been a legit starter in this league....a great asset provided you can cover for his weaknesses....but not a starter at all.

what are you trying to say? we can't look back fondly on Gordon because he was limited defensively and was better suited off the bench? thats a bit silly...he still gave us some good years and was a big reason that team was watchable

That had more to do with skiles then BG. BG sucked. Getting rid of him was addition by subtraction.

Players who suck generally don't tend to shoot 40% from 3 5 years in a row while also topping 20ppg twice. He had plenty of flaws, but he was far from the worst player we had in that time frame.

He wasn't the worst but he could have easily been plugged in with another guy
