Gonna have to agree with PSR on this one I like that Mayers and Scott, and even carcillo while in there are quick to come to the defense, but this team still seems to get pushed around an awful lot. I cringed at then when Kruger was getting the bidness and no one was there to back him up. I know people are at different places of the ice and such but that's just one example. I'm not expecting Kane to go in there dropping the gloves, but it almost seems like its a rarity and you are surprised when someone other than Mayers or Carcillo, and usually Seabs is in the scrum wrapping people up. The team toughness went up with the addition of some guys and the minutes of Scott, but it seems like the rest of the guys sometimes rest on their heels thinking they don't need to show toughness if they have tough guys on the team. It's not always about having an enforcer to me it's about the entire team playing tough and gritty, backing up your teammates, and when things boil over having someone step in and tell the other team that they have gone too far. I still feel like I see a lot of incidents of players isolated and getting pushed around by the other team without another hawks player coming to at least wrap someone up.

I say 5.

No reason for a hit like that and Shanny hands out a stocking filled with coal.

That was a horrible hit. There is only one place that can stop all this non sense from happening.

The P.A. Memo to Donald Fehr. Your own players are eliminating each other one right after another.

Get some damn respect back in the game.

And people stop blaming Bettman, Shannahan, Campbell, Wirtz etc etc for all this.

Time for the players to start looking themselves in the mirror and take control back of your game.

This isn't go ddamn NASCAR!!!!! You can't replace a man's head like a front fender.

Toews said it best after the game if anyone wants to check out his comments. The onus is on the players and no one else.

“When a guy has his back turned and you have more speed than him, it comes down to respect,” Toews said. “Head shots and head injuries aren’t going anywhere if we’re going keep making plays like that, and that goes for everybody around the entire league.”

Totally agree. I gotta add though that my boy Hoss has been jumping in a good deal lately too.

Exactly, while Emerick did bring up a good point about why we've seen more and more concussions. That being that the game is so fast, D men can no longer "slow down" an opponent with a clutch or grab, its just raw speed all of the time. These boardings have nothing to do with that, the play on Kronwall was disgusting as was Seabrooks.

Saw the hit the hole way and actually thought to myself, no way would Bourque take that hit, and before I could finish the thought Seabrook was down.

I blame the ref too for being in the way, not really, but he sure didn't help putting Seabs in an even more awkward position looking back with his stick at the refs skates.

I agree about the ref. (I'm not trying to save ass a ****** like Rene, but) it just seemed wierd when it happened, like he didn't really mean to hit him there in that way or that hard. Maybe I was just shocked that it happened at all. Just seemed wierd...

I hope my boy Seabs is okay. It will be interesting to see what Shanny gives Rene. I'm thinking 2 games.

Sounds like an argument that the instigator needs to go the way of the dodo. That's what enforcers do, they enforce respect.

Very good point. We were talking about that as Bickell was serving his 17 minutes of penalties. It's the absolute biggest bullshit rule in the NHL. Hands down.

The only issue I have...is when a guy simply gets hit hard - there's no reason to fight. Clean hits sometimes results in fights....which is lame

True but hits like Sarich last night to Bickell, which clearly looked HIGH as Sarich was head hunting, deserve an answer. Bickell just happened to answer on his own incident.

You can wait for that information on your own.

Reason I'm asking is because I don't know if they'll disclose that, like with Carcillo. I would say that if it is another concussion, that's not "okay".

Exactly, and Sarich didn't HAVE to drop his gloves either.

If your ballsy enough to hit a guy high like that, you shouldn't turtle when the guy comes after you.
