Rene Bourque Suspended 2 Games For Hit On Seabrook

Reason I'm asking is because I don't know if they'll disclose that, like with Carcillo. I would say that if it is another concussion, that's not "okay".

He traveled with the team, Carcillo did not.

I just find it very hard to believe that he didn't get one. He was asleep on the ice. Again. There's just a lot of definitions of the word "okay" when it comes to what happened to him.

The only issue I have...is when a guy simply gets hit hard - there's no reason to fight. Clean hits sometimes results in fights....which is lame

The first season the instigator is gone is going to be a blood bath. There are going to be a shit ton of fights but once the code gets remembered shit will teeter back down to normal levels and dirty hits will become less frequent.

The code says it is okay to nail a guy clean, just dont do it dirty.

I'm not sure Sarich on Bickell was clean. Sure looked like a high hit to me. Which is a reason I agree with you on the instigator. Let them police themselves.

True but hits like Sarich last night to Bickell, which clearly looked HIGH as Sarich was head hunting, deserve an answer. Bickell just happened to answer on his own incident.

I didnt think it was that bad of a hit by Sarich - he's a big guy..Bickell's a big guy - there wasnt an elbow or anything - it was body to body and Bickell wasn't expecting it more than being a high hit.

I didn't think it deserved a fight - other than Bick being hit. Good for Sarich for answering - but I think thats a hit if he didn't like it, he should get him back with a clean hit during the game.

I disagree. It was a High, uneccessary hit. IMO Bickell went to atone for it. Border line hit to the head, watch it again.

Not to mention Sarich was head hunting all night. Not sure if he was actually playing hockey.

Exactly... but I doubt it would happen very quickly.

Also in that theory Clowe was nailed by a clean body to body hit from Mayers during the sharks game. How did Clowe atone for it, by running around taking sucker punches to three different Hawks faces.

Onus is on the players. Sarich shouldn't have been head hunting which he clearly was, just as bourque should have held up knowing Seabrook would crash face first into the glass. And the instigator and 17 minutes you put your team short handed makes retaliation in most cases a non factor, due to those 17 minutes.

I don't think he ever closed his eyes accept when people came in and started snowing his face. He was never out of it. He was pissed if anything.

This brings up a good point. It's not just about the code. It is the fact that none of these guys actually fight anymore. None of the punches are clean to the face, half of them wear visors and the fights are more about containing the other guy than landing a hit. So they are mostly ineffectual when it comes to "sending a message". They might as well just take fighting out of the game and be more judicious with the penalties. Hell the NHL doesn't even really let them fight anymore. I was SHOCKED that BigPickle and Sarich really had a bit of a boxing match for a few minutes with no ref intervention. We need to see more of that; refs need to stay the **** out of the fight, unless they see a lopsided fight like Chara grabing Kaner for instance.

Bourques an asshole. Never liked that **** face and last night was just another reason to add to the list.

Guys a dick head. 2 games isn't enough for dick heads like Bourque. Give him 5 and tell him he isn't as good as he thinks he is. He still skates like shit and I am surprised he didn't cause more injuries to Hawk players when he played here. God knows he ran into his own team mates enough when he did play with the Hawks. One of the worst skaters I have ever seen in this league to be honest and he doesn't really have a good hockey IQ either. His couple lucky years in Calgary were a result of who he played with not how he played.

Flames last night were actually a bunch of cry baby **** heads. They can't keep up with a real NHL team so they go out of their way to hack and play like assholes. That one is actually on the guy behind the bench. I am glad the Hawks didn't bend over and take it. Shoved back and still continued to make the Flames look like an AHL club..which is what they are. Bourque should be captain of that shit team. Shit players should be captain of shit teams.

Iginla needs to get the **** out of there.

Pretty sure he was out cold for a few seconds, he had his eyes closed before the snow showers and the way his head was positioned.

Funny reading the comments on tsn, some going as far as saying it was a dive...

I have no idea how to bring the video of the hit up on here...but I watched it a few times, and thought it was a good hit. Sarich used his body and not an elbow. I don't think the head was targeted or wasnt the center of impact

Watch it again. He's motionless even as players are skating in, showering his face with ice. He was out. 3rd time that's happened in the last year and a half.

It actually was eerily similar to when Havlat got drilled by Kronwall.

Same with Hannan, Jackman and Comeau or whoever the **** he even is. Also might as well throw Bourque in there, fucking team has been relegated to old hacks.

Glad we got the win but the play from the Flames was bush league in terms of running players, there play of actual hockey was just downright pathetic. Poor Kipper will never get a cup, always liked that guy.

I don't think he was out. The only way to really tell is if he tells someone.

So what was he doing with his face on the ice in a precarious position as players are skating in? He liked how it felt? Come on man, he was out for at least a few seconds there.

Not sure what everyone else is seeing, but THIS. He was out cold. Zero question about it. Completely motionless and the way he was laying on the ice, it looked like he was taking a nap. I am starting to worry about Seabs. He can't keep getting hit like that.
