Loss: Caligula
I thought that hit he took in the back of the head is going to be enough to put him back in concussion protocol.

Lets get Kurashev up with the big boys, end this nylander experiment while we are at it. I have never seen a forward skate to the boards so often with the puck on his stick.

It was great to see the Hawks give it a go and try and get in the wildcard chase, but let’s all be honest here, we were all blinded. This team is not very good. We have a few players that make it interesting and at times keep it closer than it really is. Kane has only been ok lately, Tazer, even though he has been playing hard forgot about about the first 35 games of the season, Dcat and Strome have gone M.IA, the third and forth lines are rather useless, this team still plays guys like KOKo over Gilbert and enjoy watching guys like Nylander skate around in circles and do absolutely nothing.
Lehnar has been good, but when the team really needed him the most he shit the bed, CC has been ok, but I won’t dare put the onus on a 35 year goalie. The Hawks are just not good enough to be a playoff team.

Quenville scored in his fourth straight game yesterday, I thought he was playing well up here, definitely better than Nylander. Isnt Q's name big enough for this town?

Hoping here that they end up with a top 5 pick at this point.

That's the name of the game these days.....you gotta bite the bullet. Damn hard to be a so-so team and turn it around, you really have to be bad before you can be good. This group had a fantastic run, the best ever from a Blackhawk team but everything comes to end at some point.

For sure!

Some of the naysayers seem completely oblivious to the salary cap (the toll it takes on the roster) and how fortunate they were to witness not 1, not 2, but 3 cups in their lifetime with this group. It's very hard to do in the salary cap era.

Back in the day when Nashville swept the Hawks (2016-2017 season), many thought they were the next young up and comers and here they are a few seasons later with zero cups (unloaded their best D-man from that small push, PK Subban) and already in rebuild mode, just a point ahead of the Hawks in the standings.

I have to say I'm surprised they are still selling out. I know there is the whole corporate angle, but the sounds from some fans with STs and the reseller market, you'd think they'd be scrambling.

Very good point. Seems like ST holders are leaving in droves, and I can't say I blame them -- not only because of the product on the ice, but with the way prices have gone up. Yet the Hawks still sell out every game, which is weird. Once that ends, you'll see heads roll.

Same. I was rooting for them all the way up until this road trip, but this road trip was the defining point of the season. Now I'm fully on DieHardFan's team. It's time for a tank-job.

I predicted before the year started that this was not a playoff team, so honestly, I'm not as upset I probably should be. This isn't very surprising to me: Bowman really didn't do enough to improve the roster or make this team deep, and the players he did get (Shaw, de Haan) were already damaged goods before ever being acquired. He is a terrible GM, plain and simply.

Spot on HIM, especially about Lehner -- and even Crow to an extent. They've both been solid but when the Hawks needed them most, they shat themselves.

With just 5 games until the trade deadline, I just hope Bowman takes action and squashes any delusions that this is a playoff team, because the time for him to do so is now.

On a related note:
I leave a clock radio on an oldies station for background noise for our dog when no one is home.
Today I heard 50 Ways to Leave Your Lover and it reminded me of the Hawks.

Zach Smith ruled out 7-10 days, placed on IR for a hand injury. Probably one of the better moves, even though he has been fourth line, he was doing well.

I am with you, I hope Bowman takes action as well, start selling, pick up draft picks,I and am pretty sure Lehner can get you a first in a very deep draft this season even Saad could fetch you a first, Hawks need to prepare for 2023, yes 2023 when the books are clean and the heavy salaries are gone. I would be dealing everyone, Saad, Strome, Gus, Smith, Matta, CC if it can fetch you draft picks, drift to the bottom, pick up another top 5 pick and keep moving forward. Tear it down, bring in a decent coach to teach the kids and let Bowman go.

There you go, 4+ goals or bust. The Meat and Potatoes of this roster is goal scoring.

go all out I say, just go for back and forth open end games!!! Don't even play D!
