2 for Nylander, guess that locks him in the lineup for the rest of the year so he can live of these like he did the first.

Shhhh, he had a good game. Kid is only 21. Let him have his moment and build on it.

Even if they do decide to lock him up it will be pennies on the dollar in terms of impact on the cap. He's the least of the Hawks problems.

Focus your rage on the big cap crushers.

I want the spot to see what a guy like Kurashev can do before he gets tossed to the way side. Quenville playing well in Rockford as well. I would rather the big cap crushers get replaced by these kids than betterans.

Lots of puck-fumbling so far. The ice quality seems poor; did they use a Zamboni or a rake prior to the opening face-off?

Chicago didn’t allow a goal nor take a penalty after Copp’s wide-open chance led to a long shift in the attack zone. So that’s something ?

Good news. The Blackhawks have the lead.
Bad news. The Blackhawks have a lead to blow.

That's it. I've had it w/ this team. WAY too much crap going on in my life to put up with this nonsense.

All you hear from the TV:

GREAT SAVE FROM CRAWFORD!

ANOTHER GREAT SAVE ON THE RE-DIRECT! HOW DID HE...

YET ANOTHER INCREDIBLE STOP CRAWFORD/LEHNER IS...

And the (opponent's name) scores.

HAD. IT.

I don't care if they win 15-3 after that garbage. Which they obviously won't. More likely Chicago endures another humiliating loss and Crawford goes home w/ the sound of his name ringing in his ears.

Still much time before the TDL's up but it's time to quit fantasizing. This team as-is is always chasing tails by mid-way through the 2nd. Too slow and too long in their own-zone. Either the players are to blame or the system: I say both.

Call me when this one's over I am done wasting energy worrying whether tonight's the night they finally show up for 60 minutes or even 40. They simply don't have the horses for anything more than sprints; and Heaven Forbid this team lost Kane for a Crosby-like period of time our top scorer might have as many points as Detroit's right now.

This will be 3rd straight year missing playoffs. Things went south the tail end of 2016/2017 season when they lost last 4 games going into playoffs..then got swept by Nashville...ending season with 8 straight losses. Never been the same. They put themselves in this position with the crazy contracts...where everyone knows they need HUGE changes but they can't...but how does a team with Toews and Kane miss the playoffs 3 straight seasons?

This will be the 5th straight season without a playoff series win for this team.

We all know it's waaaay beyond time to break this team up...but Bowman really screwed 'em. Great memories of the 3 cups...but man..this was not set up at all for continued success.

Maybe we can get lucky with these youngsters somehow.

NHL is not like the NBA where 2 players are gonna carry the team cause they are able to log 45 of 48 NBA minutes.

Toews play has been going down for years which is why he wasn't even named top 20 centers in the NHL this past year.

Blackhawks won back in the day due to their 4 line depth. Big Buff, Versteeg, Sharpe, Andrew Ladd, Marian Hossa, etc. hell Brian Campbell who was their highest paid D man was in on the 2nd and 3rd lines due to their depth.

When success comes players want to get paid. I told my co-workers who were huge Blackhawks fans back in the day the cup run was going to end soon as Toews and Kanes MASSIVE 21 million cap hit on 2 roster slots went into effect as it would only mean a domino effect down the roster.

Compared to other North American pro leagues the NHL salary cap has gone up by miniscule amounts every year.

As a comparison....
NHL salary cap 71.5 million (2015/2016 season) to present day 81 million
NBA salary cap 70 million 2015-2016 season and its ballooned to 109 million now, lol
NFL salary cap 143 million to 188 million

The true reason for the salary caps are to equalize play, and force teams to sign seat sellers in every city that has a team, not watch the same 4 or 6 teams in the playoffs every year. The reason the NBA is up so high is because owners are willing to pay 40 million a year for the least demanding sport out there, and now the stars are picking destinations like its free agency when they get an itch to move.
I also believe the NBA is going to be in a bigger mess because of it than the NHL.

NFL, just consider they are actually considering making the highest paid player on the roster exempt from the cap, quarterbacks are being donned "franchise" instead of just starter or first string and the dollars it went up just went to the dollars going to QB's.

The oddest thing I have heard on the past few telecasts and some sports radio like ESPN 1000 is there are reports that Keith wants them to buy at the deadline so he can have another shot at a cup here before he moves on. Seems like the seabrook benchings and whatever private life stuff they have going on is taking a toll and these guys might consider dropping the NMC's. Just wonder if Keith and Seabs will have to hold hands into their new city.

NHL fanbase and viewership popularity will never come close to the competition (MLB, NBA, NFL) in North American sports which is why their cap structure (based off league revenue) will always go up at a snails crawl.

Blackhawks now 8 points behind both wild cards. 5 points behind two teams that aren't even in wild card spots, to boot. Since we have no shot at the Central, those top-five teams in the Pacific are just going to keep shuffling the Wild Card. In other words, it ain't technically over, but it's over.

it's like last year....

good thing is they are hitting this streak right before the trade deadline. Bowman is going to be selling and there should be no untouchables
