I never gotta see Ventura play live, at least when I go to a game this year I can see him in uniform.

Fans loved him and he has always been a proud member of the Sox family. Definitely a shocking move and under the radar, but hopefully it works out. Ventura is a good guy and I hope to see him succeed.

As for the other candidates that were out there ... it wasn't a job bigger names wanted, and Coop already in place was a big reason why.

Guess the others wanted to bring in their own pitching coach.

My first thought was poor Ryno. Ryno been managing minor leagues for 5 years trying to get MLB job while Ventura hasnt managed a little league team and gets MLB managing job. Funny how the world works lol. Surprising move by CHW

Wow. I honestly thought KW would go w/ Francona or LaRussa, knowing this may be his last chance to save his career...

That's...surprising.

I would've loved to have seen that just to see @NotHawk on Twitter go apeshit.
