I think rami and code summarized it best. It wasa combination of things that led to roses bad shooting. James ability as heff said, the heats strategy, the lack of a secondary player capable of getting his own shot from the perimeter, the coaches not making adjustments according to counter the heats strategy. All those things helped the bulls demise.

And definately wasn't just james. I think heff is basing his summary of the whole series off of those 2 plays where james does D-up rose 1v1. But that's really doesn't tell the whole story.

When heff says that rose shot worse when james was defending him, well that's not saying much cuz he shot terrible overall. Its like a student bragging to another student cuz he got a D- instead of an F.

I agree that Rose shot badly overall, which is one of the reasons I said he shares some of the blame. He definitely needs help, but the defense did a great job of keeping those games close but they couldn't pull it out.

I and another poster here spoke of Rose's overly aggressive play on Christmas Day against the Knicks. He tried to do too much. That was the way things were the last 4 games of that series. Now a bulk of Lebron vs. Rose matchups were in the 4th quarter and Rose did not do well at all in those matchups to say the least.

But its not just 2 plays, a majority of the basis is the last 2 games, when Rose was totally shut down by Lebron when Rose had the ball and it was crunch time.

My favorite teams
  1. Chicago Cubs
  1. Minnesota United FC
  1. Chicago Bulls
  1. Chicago Bears
  1. Chicago Blackhawks
  1. Notre Dame Fighting Irish
Lebron did a great job on Rose, though I wonder how much the 82 game grind, FIBA championships and summer in the gym took its toll on Rose, as well as his questionable diet of Powerade and Honey buns.

^You do realize you were responding to me and not Glide there, right?

Regardless, comparing what James did to Rose down-the-stretch of a couple of games to what Olajuwon did to David Robinson doesn't quite parallel- despite what some "expert analysts" insist on saying.

I responded to you and 97 Bulls in the same statement...and I responded to the fanboy too...sorry for the confusion.

Oh yeah it does...Olajuwon's was the more classic example, leading Rodman to make bad comments about Robinson getting owned in that series. They parallel because it was reigning vs. former MVP and actually Robinson had better games than Rose did in that series. Hakeem was just white hot throughout that series and couldn't be stopped. It took Robinson years before that stain was off of him. I hope it doesn't take Rose as long.

That had a lot to do with Rose's wear and tear, but then again that can be said of Durant too. Rose improved a lot over the summer so its not to his detriment that he played, but I think he got more rest this summer so far compared to last summer...

I was that second guy who knocked Rose's game against the Knicks on Christmas. But let's not forget that the Knicks' defense wasn't exactly the Heat defense... Rose had other guys who could get their's against the Knicks.

Well he wasn't getting his against either team, so maybe that was the time to reevaluate what he was doing. And a lot of those shots Rose took, I had no problem with...he wasn't making them. Especially in the first half of some of those games. Open jumpers because guys were playing off of him at times...he missed those shots, not all of his jump shots were contested.

Hasn´t the Knicks game on Christmas been the one where NY hit 17 threes? Not much you can do when that happens.

Why does everyone seem to forget that Rose was injured almost the entire playoffs? Rose wouldn't admit that injury affected him but it was obvious. He was playing at about 75% speed & had almost no lift on his shots. Fatigue may have played a part as well, but his ankle was nowhere near 100% & I believe it had a major impact on his play the rest of the playoffs.

Well, we will see when they meet again...but I don't think his ankle was affecting his lift that badly in the Miami series. I believe he had a couple or nice dunks in that series too, including dunking on Joel Anthony...
