HIs motive was to prove the Hawks will have a hard time staying under the Cap this summer. It was not a lack of not doing his research, it was more or less a slap to most Hawks' fans face, his assumption is all Hawks' fans are casual fans and did not think they would go to capgeek and check out the numbers.

BTW, I only wonder what the rest of the Herald is like. This guy should be hired by the onion and told he's their only reporter of the truth so he could give them some real gold.
