I don't want to be the "grammar police," (We already have people for that.) but please tell me you know the difference between "are" (a form of "is"), "our" (belonging to us), and "hour" (60 minutes); between "to (toward), "two" (an integer between one and three), and "too" (also); between "there" (a place), "their" (belonging to them), and "they're" (a contraction of "they are"); between "whether: (a choice) and "weather" (a climatological condition); and between "which" (another choice) and "witch" (a wiccan).
I can overlook having trouble with "capitol" (a place) and "capital" (money), or even "president" (a leader) and "precedent" (that which comes before), but if you don't know which word to use in the above paragraph, then there is something seriously wrong with the Chicago public school system. This is stuff you should know by 3rd grade.
