Johnson is not that bad defensively.
I'm considering the fact the Cub's have a horrible offense.
If we are going to keep adding pitchers with ERA's well above four.....
You would think we had this powerhouse line-up offensively to support it.
Oh I forgot.
We are going to tank another season to watch the "master of flipping" at his craft.
No Johnson is not that bad defensively, but Barney is that good defensively that there is a vast difference on that side of the ball. Numbers to support this are hard to come by, but if you believe the Fielding Bible Barney was heads and tails better than the second best defensive 2B in baseball last season, which certainly wasn't Johnson.
I agree that this lineup really needs bats at every spot, but Johnson has only been that bat a few times in his career. More often than not his overall offensive game is actually close enough for the difference in gloves to actually matter like it was last year.
