You can't go heavy without a spotter, unless you use a smith machine.

It's odd RS. If mind>matter then you would never need a spotter. You would just have to mentally tell yourself that you don't need one and you'd be fine.

That's weird, because I've seen people lift pretty damn heavy with no spotter, and no smith machine. I would say your advice sucks.
