I agree that it doesn't make sense. I am trying to make sense of this myself. This definitely doesn't bode well for his future as a starter.

which is weird since he has been a starter before. His numbers are fine as a starter right now.

chris rongey who i cannot stand thinks its for a "need" in the BP and not a "want", great, still doesnt ansewer the question on why he is pitching with a sore elbow, and closer of all things.

hopefully there are some honest ansewers soon because this type of secret shit pisses a lot of people off.

In college he was, but he never threw more than 105 innings in college. He has reached nearly a third of that total in the first month of the season. This definitely should make one concerned about his ability to handle the workload of a major league starting pitcher.

I get that he has a tender elbow, but if they're gonna do anything they need to shut him down.

They just went from one of the most underrated rotations in the league to a shaky rotation that depends on pitchers to have their best game every time they go out.

Don't like this at all.

If your pitcher has elbow soreness, you don't move him to a place where he could, pontentially, be pitching every day. How fucking stupid is this and how fucking stupid do the Sox think their fans are? What, they blow smoke at us and we're supposed to inhale without coughing? Just say, "oh, ok. that makes sense." and move on? **** no.

He could be the future ace of the club (or any club) and the Sox are fucking with that. "Best for his career" my ass.

Just. DL. Him.

DL him, get his elbow better, and get him back out on the mound as a starter.

Like most of you have said, there's something else going on here.

what gets me more pissed is fucking chris rongey and his backing up the sox on this move saying it is a need for the BP and not a want. Ummm no!!! you dont take a sub 3.00 ERA out of the rotation to close while having elbow soreness. rongey keeps saying it makes sense but never backs it up with any theory other than that.

The team is hiding something from us whether its a potential deal involving someone or chris sale himself doesnt want to start anymore etc etc. something is up and im very pissed that we arent allowed to know and treated like we todds.

RT @CST_soxvan Sale is not entrenched in bullpen. Cooper and Sale told me today he could return to the rotation this year.

You would think yo-yoing him back and forth between the rotation and bullpen would the be worst possible decision in terms of Sale's long term health.
