Although the Tigers are beating the hell out of the A's at the moment, so who knows...
Come on now, Dabs. Who's being a homer? Is the AL Central not just pure crap? And if it is crap, does that not make it easier for the Sox to potentially win the division?
And I granted that the White Sox might be able to sneak into the playoffs, but that wasn't the point I was trying to make. What are the odds that this team is a championship caliber team? 50%? 20%? 10%? Less than that? If the answer is 10 or lower isn't Sale's health far more important than marginal wins in a season that is very unlikely to net a championship?
I get your jib now. Honestly, if they did make it, I don't think they'd make it past the first round. So, I agree they need to take Sale's health into consideration. I don't see why they just don't DL him.
And that increases the odds you can beat the Rangers or Rays in a playoff series how?
your 2006 and 2011 cardinals say hi
The 2011 Cardinals were a better team than current White Sox are. I'll give you 2006, but how many times does one of the weakest teams entering the postseason win it all. If the White Sox made it into the postseason what teams would they be better than?
The point isn't that it is impossible. The point is that the odds are really, really against them, and in that scenario why isn't the health of the pitcher with the most upside on the team not paramount?

Krispy Kremes Colon was on the hill.
beg to differ. if the cardinals were in our division last year they are either slightly above us or slightly below us and DO NOT make the playoffs.
Did they figure this out yet?

Hope MRI = OK
No MRI results? I hope he hasn't pitched lately. Jeez.
MRI done and nothing to worry about. He's starting tomorrow. :dunno:
