Here's what they are not telling us in this article. If the NYC harbor surges to the predicted height coinciding with high tide, a good portion of the system will be underwater...Wall St. in particular. And if that happens, it will take weeks if not months to repair.

My parents were in Boston over the weekend for a funeral. They jumped on a plane today to get out early. Which was good because they announced while they were sitting at the airport this afternoon that Logan Int Airport would be closed tomorrow.

I hope all of the early warning systems do indeed help people prepare seriously. Nearly everyone is reporting that the storm itself isn't going to be anywhere near as bad as the harm caused by the utility outages.

What?, we didn't see an outage when the entire seaboard power grid collapsed a while back. On second thought, Com Ed blows chunks so I guess anything is possible.

Im just hoping we dont lose power for 10 days like last year, that was awful. Kinda pissed work was cancled, I feel like I could have at least gotten a half day in at the office. But theyre saying the heavy rains are gunna come in a few hours, not sure when we can expect the 70-80 mph winds.
