Here's what they are not telling us in this article. If the NYC harbor surges to the predicted height coinciding with high tide, a good portion of the system will be underwater...Wall St. in particular. And if that happens, it will take weeks if not months to repair.

A similar incident as the above during hurricane Wilma left us w/o power for 2 weeks in Florida 7 years ago.

Had this storm occurred back in August, the warmer water temps would have created another Katrina type disaster.

That is there job. they are there to show you the real danger, the average joe. Its the same thing as reporters going to Iraq during the war being so close to mortar fire. There job is to bring you so close to the action. I get why they do it.

Fucking shit. Orange and Rockland says 2/3 of its customers are without power and unfortunately we are in the majority. 7-10 days is the standard response to how long we will be without power. As far as updated info goes, they are about as forthcoming with that as Lovie Smith is. Didn't seem like much of a storm. We didn't get near as much rain as predicted and I didn't think the wind ever got that bad either but, still, much damage around. Life without power kinda sucks.
