Im just hoping we dont lose power for 10 days like last year, that was awful. Kinda pissed work was cancled, I feel like I could have at least gotten a half day in at the office. But theyre saying the heavy rains are gunna come in a few hours, not sure when we can expect the 70-80 mph winds.

I went to work for almost 2 weeks without power after hurricane Wilma, and it sucked...really bad. If you have an electric stove, hope you stocked-up on charcoal.

It seems like something manages to close LSD every year. Next time you play a GTA game, and you can't go to the next island, because the in-game signs and radio talk about a road closing because of some storm(the GTA island cliche), you now know it's more realistic. :yep:

thanks sun, all stocked up here on batteries and soup and beer. Luckily weve got a gas powered stove so can still make a hot meal and coffee/tea. We have well water, so no showers here if power goes out but I was told at my new place of work that there is a shower that people can use their if need be.
I think its hilarious I asked my manager for a number I could use to contact just to see if work was cancled, she said to me her plan was "nothing is going to happen, the hurricane isnt going to do anything and well be fine with work."
Last night they must have looked at my contact info and my other manager texts me to say the office is closed. My state has just announced they are closing the highways at 1pm

With over a dozen refineries in the danger zone, we ought to be getting a nice gas price increase too.

My sister drove my niece to Youngstown, Ohio yesterday(she's getting surgery in a few days). I'll admit, I'm kind of worried about them after seeing some of these updated maps of Sandy's projected path. They aren't the sharpest tools in the shed.

Maryland coast checking in. It's not too bad. Lot of cold rain but the winds are like a steady 30-40 i'd say. We lost power for an hour but it's back on. Tonight should be the worst part of it for us. candlelight beer drinking motherrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrfuckkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkers. woo. oh and pray for us.
