I don't buy this big bad Bruins bit. The Kings were supposed to be big, bad and pound the "soft" Hawks into submission, and look what happened. The Blues always try to beat the Hawks with physicality and get their asses handed to them. Hawks made it through an obstructing and interfering Wangs team. They've met the "best goalie in the playoffs". The Hawks have met teams like the Bruins already, the Bruins haven't met a team like the Hawks yet. Will it be a walk over? Probably not. It will be a challenge but not some insurmountable one.

May the best team (Hawks) win. In 6 games.

The team that wins this series is the one who gets the calls from the officials. As we have seen for 3 series so far the Hawks have not; the Bruins have.

Hawks will need their PP to click this series cause IMO they are going to get some.

IMO the Bruins are a better version of the Kings. We match up well with teams like that, vs teams like the Pens, IE Oilers with serious offensive talent that someone matches our front end talent. Those teams seem to give us problems because they match the speed, top end talent better vs us.

Will be a hard series but if the Hawks play their game, and use their PP's to benefit them, they'll win the series.

I look for a lot of hacking and crosschecking all over the ice from them, especially when the Hawks try to get traffic in front of Rask which the Bruins will counter with fierce hacking, slashing and crosschecking, and throw in the shoving and face washing around the net after the whistle.

Certainly the Bruins have watched what the Wings did and we will see more of that. If the officiating allows the thug style of play to dominate a team trying to take advantage of their hockey skills it will be hard to win. In my opinion the refs let the Wings cross the line, but that was a good prep for the Hawks and hopefully they'll deal with it much better this time around.

Before the series starts I will say Marchand is a rat. haha... This will be a real test on the teams discipline ...and especially Shaw . This should be a hell of a series.

My favorite teams
 1. Portland Timbers
 1. Chicago Blackhawks
The more I think about it the more I like our chances:

[*]Boston has only 2 players in the top-10 for goals in the playoffs, Chicago has 4. Pitt also had 2. It's going to be a bigger task for Boston to contain us than it was for Pittsburg.
[*]IMHO Crawford has been playing at least almost as well as Rask--if not as well. Comparing soft goals in the playoffs, Rask's was a lot worse. Crawford has been keeping us in it enough that it puts the onus on the skaters to get it done-which they have been.
[*]Our defense has a lot of speed. Keith brought it. Hammer Brought it, Leddy Brought it, Oduya brought it. I don't think Boston can match that aspect. Plus, if they're on, they're on. There's a reason we, and not Boston won the Jennings. If Crawford and Rask are relatively equal then by proxy, our defense is tougher.
[*]While Shaw and Bickell have been playing physical in the "dishing out" department, and Hammer is definitely willing to sacrifice himself, one thing I've liked about guys like Kane and Saad is their taking hits to make plays. If they keep that up Big, Bad Boston's physical edge will be nullified.
[*]Even though Toews and Stalberg have been invisible more often than not, if you look hard enough they're doing everything right in a support role. That's a good thing. If you can't score make it easier for us to score or harder for them to score.
[/list]

In no way shape or form does this mean it will be easy; I still think they'll be a tougher nut to crack than Detroit, but I think it's well within possible that we can take this home. We just have to play our game, as RK said.

The Hawks have had more pp chances than the Bruins these playoffs. And both teams have had to kill off the exact same number of penalties. Where do you get your information from? The stats are available for everyone to see. Good old hockey fans throwing down the conspiracy nonsense about officiating.

The great thing is overall the Bruins PP is worse than the Hawks (shocking I know). And the Hawks PK has been better than the Bruins (although the Bruins hasn't been horrible).

I actually don't think the series will come down to special teams. Both teams will probably be unproductive on their PP's and strong on their PKs. Its going to come down to 5 on 5 hockey as it usually does.

ohhh yah forgot about the Walkom **** up. Probably because it was 2 series ago and I flat out don't care about it anymore and have moved on as a fan. And because the Hawks overcame it as they often do with bad calls.

Rather have fun looking at Boston as a hockey team than what the officials look like. I know that's hard to do in this league now the way the officials suck and how its become the medias #1 topic (for good and bad). Every team has to overcome bad calls and complete **** ups. When it happens to your team it just gets amped up a little more..i understand.

Would rather talk about how Kane and Toews are going to handle Charas presence. Whos going to be responsible for shutting down Krejci and Seguin. Whos going to have the unfortunate luxury of having Bergeron shadow them. Who will be the first to have an elbow by Marchant to the face. What's the game plan for Rask who has been the best playoff goalie since the 1st round.

I bet some Bruin fans are asking the same questions of how they will try to break down the Hawks defence. How are they going to break down Chicago's depth up front and keep Bickell away from the net.

Worry about officiating before the more important things then you will lose before you hit the ice.

You can spin the stats any way you want. I can play this game too. Bruins have 6 players with 4 or more goals, the hawks have 4. Bruins have scored 50 goals, hawks 47 (bruins played 1 less game). Bruins defensemen have 15 goals, the hawks D has 5 or 6.

Rask has faced the penguins, an elite team. Crawford has not had to face an elite offense yet.

Oh goodie we have a broons fan here.

I hope your team is as cocky as your fan base seems to be. Luckily for you, your coach, a good one, won't have his team being that foolish.

He realizes he was 2 minutes from being ousted in the first round by the hand of a team that hasn't made the playoffs in 15 years.

I don't think the Hawks would have matched up well with the Pens, but I do think they'll match up very well with the Bruins. But please be cocky because that just leads to great disappointment.

Same thing that's going to end up with this Bruins fan. I'm confident in predicting that. Hawks in 6 or 7, we are not the Pens, we have a Defense, goalie, and roll four lines that play defense as well.

We also didn't add four over rated players to **** our locker room up at the deadline. Like I said I'd much rather play the Bruins than the Pens. Glad they swept them and feel all high and mighty.

3 teams in NHL history have started out like the Hawks did this year. All three went on to win the Stanley Cup. I like the odds.

We've won three game 7's and also ousted the reigning Stanley Cup Champion in 5 games. Where even the only loss was barely a loss. I suppose anything can happen but I like this false sense of confidence. Bodes very well for us.

Both teams PP are pitiful and the Hawks have the best PK in the league by far. So I suppose special teams will be very interesting depending how much diving is or isn't called from Boston. They appear to have perfected it via the link above.

They hold a decisive advantage on the FO% which will be crucial for the Hawks in both offensive and defensive draws. No matter the outcome (homer/Knowledgeable fan) in me says Hawks win in 6-7. I agree it should be a huge series. Also very good for the NHL as in two very nice cities, two Original 6 teams, and two previous Cup winners in the past four years.

Epic story line.

Now thats a hockey post! and one that gets me pumped up for the series!!

This series is going to full of ups and downs for both teams. Why? Because they are both good hockey teams with distinctive differences which work in their favour and against them in the match up. Both teams are loaded with players who recently were in cup finals and won them. And yah two awesome cities with rapid sports fans. It's going to be an emotional roller coaster for the players and the fans as that usually comes hand in hand.

The one thing I don't see this series is dominance by either team and home ice should and very well could be a key. I wouldn't be shocked to see a 7 game series. I would be very shocked if it goes 4-5 games for either team. I also expect tight checking and a lot of ice being taken away for both teams. Maybe one game will be a blow out but even then I doubt it. It's going to be 60 minutes of tight physical hockey with huge saves and timely goals. Bet it becomes one of the best cup final series of the modern game.

I respect Boston. Have always liked them as a hockey town and for the most part as a hockey team. Are they going to play chippy hacky hockey that is going to piss me off as a Hawks fan? Yup..that's what they do esp that Marchand prick. Can the Hawks match that if they wanted to? Yup they sure can. Will they have to? That remains to be seen.
