I guess I wonder how much other countries try to delineate race. I mean if you are what 1/16th (or is it 1/32nd?) cherokee you can be as an "native american" and I think that if you have any black in you you're allowed to check the box on governement forms if you want. I don't care I'm just making conversation and it's curious. It struck me as really odd that this fucking idiot writing it was using Johnny Oduya as the poster boy for African American hockey players... I bring it up too because it's better than listening to idiots still pine for Stalberg, or Grim and pcmCXSMs troll each other... I just wish we could get rid of the focus of race so much. Maybe then it would have an impact on rasicm. I don't know. I am glad to see that their are no African Canadians... although that sounds really racist.

Speaking of off topic, and this is waaaaaaay too early to bring up with six games left, but when the Hawks won the cup several Hawks had bonus money paid to them for winning the cup that really hurt the Hawks with the salary cap the following year. Anyone know if that's the case this year with players having a bonus clause and if the new CBA factors in cup winning bonus clauses? Could be a real challenge with the cap going down and bonuses kicking in.

Bonuses are only allowed in EL contracts and 35+ contracts. And it seems no players are going to get those, maybe Saad if he gets the Calder, but it can be deferred to the last year of his contract.

Honestly at this point I'd leave Bollig in, but I don't see why you couldn't move Shaw to center and sit Kruger... he's done nothing for me all playoffs. But neither has stalberg.

Just got back from Morning Skate. Appears Stalberg is out again tonight (still on ice with after starters went in) With Jamal, Brookbank, Carcillo, Stanton, Smith and Karlsson, and Horton was out there skating full warm ups. I'm guessing he's in.

Sooooo off topic here... I saw some stupid headline I think from chicago now about the surge of African American players in the NHL and it really bothered me... not the premise per say but it doesn't make sense to me. Why didn't he say Black? I think that would have been appropriate. And I believe it was a black guy who wrote the piece. But my real question regarding this is they used a picture of FUCKING JOHNNY ODUYA.... I'm not saying he isn't black.... I'm saying... he isn't African American. They went on to quote stats about how there are like almost like 48 African Americans in hockey now or some shit like that... but aren't most of them from outside America? So They wouldn't really be African Americans would they? And I doubt Oduya considers himself Afroswede... Swedican... Afrish... whatever. Or is that a thing? Do black people in canada call themselves African Canadians? That's and honest question I don't know, I had never thought of it. I know big Buff was from Minn... so he's an African American if he calls himself that. I can't think of many other black guys from America that are in the NHL... but I know I'm missing a boatload. So I guess my main point is it's late and the day and I"m getting cracky about semantics of a piece of shit blog by a guy who calls himself DJ something or other... Thoughts?

I looked it up in case you were wondering. In the history of the NHL less than a dozen Black Americans have ever skated in the NHL. So yeah that guys blog is beyond fubar. Can you link it ?

I was reading an article on Seth Jones, and it has some REAL History of Black Americans in hockey later in the article.

I think, if I'm correct, he's part of the #1 PK in the league. But I could be foggy on that. I also think he was 54% FO% in game #1, but I could be wrong.

Have to wonder how much his shoulder can take, a simple hit into the boards could do it.

Boston is so lucky to have Rask. That first period was an NHL team vs an AHL team with and NHL goalie. Not going to get into the non goal. Seen that enough in the NHL to know right away they weren't going to reverse the call on the ice.

Keep up the same pace and stick to the same game plan in the 2nd. Im sure Julien is going to make some adjustments he can't stick with those lines he was rolling. Bostons defence is collapsing, Hawks is getting even better.

Yeah, Bruins were very lucky to get out of that down only by 1. Should have been a goal, but Toronto blows it once again. Hope the missed chances don't come back to bite them in the ass later, but if they keep doing what they did in the first they ought to take this game.

It looked like Julien thought Rask was interfered with on Sharpies goal. After watching in slomo at home it was just a lot of traffic, I did'nt see interference.

By the way I think Sharp has definitely woke up.

Games like this make me nervous even though the Hawks are playing really well. 1-0 leads are never comfortable no matter what.

Hortons shoulder is fucked. Watch that guy skate and hold his stick..hes totally favouring one side. Someone just needs to throw him into the boards. But at the same time him being this ineffective is a positive..keep him on the ice. Touch wood now before Horton scores.

I cant believe Julien hasn't changed up anything with his lines. 6 game shots well through the second period and he makes zero adjustments? No shots from his top line? That's crazy. But suppose they are still in it so no need for Julien to freak out. Thought he would make at least one adjustment after the first period.

and there was Juliens adjustment and it paid off.

feels like OT now. this has been a tight 2nd period. both teams clogging and making no room. tight forechecks by both teams also.

Kane needs to stop floating behind his own line. Not fully blaming him for that goal against as I know he has to think offense but you still can't float that high all the time.

nows the time for a pp goal Hawks. PLEASE!! Maybe show some urgency on it?

Bullshit tripping call on Bolland.

I think Julien was in the refs ear about a no goalie interference call on Sharps goal so this is the "makeup" call.
