I have no problem with people being fans of their country, what gets me is the way they're duped into doing it, and duped into accepting the toxic associations that come along with it.

For example, why does national pride always have to be centered around military worship? Is there anyone stood enough to believe that our military is used to protect our freedom? It's used to protect corporate interests in strategic parts of the world and manipulate regimes (overthrow or install and prop up) to suit that purpose.

I think national pride should be about celebrating nurses, teachers, writers, thinkers, emergency responders and volunteers. People who work to make life and society better at home.

What pisses me off is people that tell me or others to take their National pride somewhere else because they don't like it. I'm not a religious person, but it pisses me off when people try to snuff out religion in this Country, as though they should be free of ever hearing it or seeing any references to it. If you are so mentally and emotionally fragile that you cannot deal with others celebrating their religion, you have serious issues. It's no different than those celebrating *** pride, leave them the hell alone, who cares. This Country has become so pussified that people can't deal with others that don't have the same lifestyle and beliefs as them? I am sick of it, get the **** over it.

I guess I stand for liberty more than anything else and grow tired of intolerent fuckheads from the far left and far right. I am glad this school celebrated Veterans, they should be. Hell it's politicians that put our military in bad positions, not the enlisted men and women.

So my only words for sensitive people that can't handle others celebrating Veteran or religious Holidays, get the **** over it and do something else.

I don't entirely disagree with you mick. I pray in my home and my house is based on faith in God and that's really where it should be, in the home. I don't want people outside my home teaching my family about faith and prayer unless in know thier basis and doctrine. If all religion is taken out of government and public facilities, Its really fine with me. Thw whole "as for me and my house" thing. I do think we should honor veterans who have served in some way and teach our kids to respect service members. I'm not sure if the pledge really does that or not.

So you would have issue with celebrating Hindu holiday Dewali at work? You want our Government to protect your brain and ears from that? lol. Indians at work here celebrate Dewali every year and bring in great food, I don't have an issue with learning others peoples culture and celebrating with them. Bearmick couldn't do that? Are you that socially repressed and intolerant bearmick?

Maybe I'm just more tolerant of others.

You mentioned corporate interests in your post..I merely asserted that the Bears are a business and a corporation as well, yet you support them
You still havent commented on my comparisons between supporting the Bears, and supporting America

Because they're not remotely related. For an analogy to fit, it has to have more than "they're a business".

Oh you have a lawn but you hate the packers? They're both green. Explain yourself, hypocrite!

They are most certainly related...You scoff at people who support the country because as you put it, "our military defends corporations", yet the Bears are one of those corporations and you support them. The similarities are significant

I think the government should stay out of it all together personally. Its job is to protect the people IMO. It should focus on doing that. I have no problem with people expressing religion freely in the open. I guess my point really was I'm going to practice my religion regardless. Not that people shouldn't be allowed to do practice in public.

Yes. I come to work to post on CCS and deal with mortgages, not to listen to some Hindu religious nonsense.

See that makes no sense to me at all, they aren't praying to me or preaching. They bring in Indian food that celebrates their culture, and it's good. I have no issue with it and I'm glad I work in a Company and live in a Country that allows it. It doesn't mean they are trying to make me Hindu, they are just including me in celebrating with them. It's liberty and I love it. If you don't like it don't participate.

Wait, BB and BM going behind closed doors to discuss mortgage stuff.... I don't like it.... BB you talk about your mortgage issues out here in the open on a public internet forum or don't talk about it at all....

No...you said "MICK" could edit HIS posts...not me

I was saying that Mick can edit his posts, like you do. It was implied. Go get some coffee, and maybe your shinebox.

That's fine, but my response was to your OP where they WERE bringing religion, not culture, and into public school, not private business. You're shifting the goal posts.
