I think he's mostly pissed that the Cubs aren't spending out the wazoo to try to contend this year, but with the payroll around $100MM already before any additions, they would've had to spend (just talking annual salary here) $20MM+ for a Prince Fielder, then tried to sign Jose Reyes and CJ Wilson (there's another $30MM). Then they could have just signed Albert Pujols and tried to outbid the Yankees for CC Sabathia. Then signed Yu Darvish and those Cuban guys.

Never mind whether they fit the team or not, or whether they have transferable skills to MLB, Ricketts is a billionaire! SPEND! SPEND!

I think Jocketty fell off his rocker with the Marshall deal..

Trading three higher quality prospects for a reliever.

I am pissed we aren't getting Fielder but for the most part I'm just being sarcastic in my "I could do better" posts. I understand where this team is at and I'm just an angry, impatient Cubs fan. I trust Theoyer to do it their way and I hope I can trust Ricketts in a few years, when we are just a player or two away, to have that checkbook ready.

I don't get why everyone is writing Fielder off the books so soon. I think he is certainly still in the realm of possibilities.

Magically happened the same time everyone here got on him.

:smoke:

You can think what you want, but since he stopped running a mogul league he has devoted more than a year of his life too I tend to believe that the issues are real.

  1. Chicago Bears
  1. Chicago Blackhawks
  1. Chicago State Cougars
  2. DePaul Blue Demons
  3. Illinois-Chicago Flames

Heard he is 5'10"

Sappelt's D isn't that bad, not sure if it is good or not either though.
Torreyes is small but he's also a beast. Comparison: Pedroia with less power (both short, hit for average).

Media is calling him Augie 2.0

Explains why both guys are not registering as prospects

Sapplet's D is OK. I think the IF is listed as 5'6, but is said to look 5'7-5'8.

Torreyes has batted .364 w/ 38 doubles, 17 triples, 8 HR, 125 R, 87 RBI and 37 SB in 158 games over two years in the Reds' MiLB system.

Dave Sappelt was the Reds' 2010 Minor League Hitter of the Year and the Southern League's Most Valuable Player.

Wood was the Reds' 2009 Minor League Pitcher of the Year and the Southern League's Most Outstanding Pitcher after going 13-5 w/ a 1.77 ERA.

I like wood. The other prospects are not ranked. That speaks volumes. All Chicago media thinks the prospects are never will bes
