Blackhawks need to take advantage of Detroit's defense in this series. Howard has been keeping them in there and playing well, but with the top end balance and bottom depth that the Blackhawks have they should get their opportunities. I see this series going 5 - 6 games.

The only issue going into Wednesday night could be how hot the Wings are as of late and the "momentum" they will carry from their series win. Blackhawks should be well rested and I would expect any of that week long rust to get knocked off pretty quickly.

Bolland is expect back and same with Emery - have to figure that the combo of Carcillo/Bollig sits. I get the feeling that the Blackhawks toss Bolland out at the 2c position and move Handzus back to 4c. Not saying I agree with it (mostly Bolland at 2c, Handzus at 4c is fine by me) but I'd be surprised if he doesn't jump back to the 2c spot where he has been all year.

"momentum" is a very gray area. that word gets tossed around way to easily in the context of sports. It is somewhat ok to use it from a moment to moment basis but from series to series it is nil. as far as 2c i dont care, the lines will be juggled a million times because of Q. bollig and carcillo being out in a series like this is fine.

Supposedly the lines for practice today were...20-19-81, 10-28-88, 29-36-65, 13-16-67

Second day in a row that Stalberg is skating but in a white jersey and without a line. Handzus supposedly is having another maintenance day but reports are saying he is out there skating.

Really, really interesting that Stalberg is left out and Smith/Carcillo are both practicing with lines.

Should be a heck of a series. I'm glad these two teams get another crack at each other before the Wings move east. I don't know about you guys, but this Wings fan is disappointed in the loss of this rivalry.

I picked the Wings to win this series in 7, but I'll be honest, a LOT of stuff is gonna have to go right for the Wings for that to happen. Howard's going to have to stand on his head, and Datsyuk and Zetterberg are going to have to carry the team at times with all the rookies on board. What can I say? I'm a bit of a homer...

Regardless of the outcome, good luck to you guys in the future. Hopefully we'll meet in the Finals soon.

I am for Stalberg over Carbomb but if he isn't playing I would assume he has some sort of injury. You don't waste a spot on a clown like Carbomb against a team as rancid as the Wings. This Hawks team has too much depth as it stands to balance the Things two scoring lines. I honestly don't see Detoilet doing anything when the Hawks are again built to attack in waves. Hawks fore check strong on their putrid defense and they never leave their zone. Cant wait.

Look at what Stalberg did to Suter last round...gave him trouble EVERY shift, imagine what he can do to detroit's defense...Q would be silly to drop him

I have said it before and I will say it again, this team wins in spite of Q and his two stooges. The fact that he would even consider dressing Carcillo or Bollig in the playoffs is reason enough for him to be fired. Stalberg was one of the few guys this whole season that you noticed trying. IF he was going to sit someone for not putting forth effort so far, it should be Seabrook. He went from far and away our best D-man last year, to arguably the biggest disappointment on the team this year. Now, I can see Stals being benched for a guy like Smith, or one of the other Hogs, but we all know that will not happen.

I agree on Seabrook, but Stalberg has taken quite a few shifts off last series. Hence why he is being white shirted. I have no idea where the Q hate comes from, besides picking poor assistants for the PP, but he has been great with shifting around line chemistry.

I'd love to hear some real reasons why Q should be fired. Sounds comical.

Regardless, Hawks in 6 games. It won't be a cakewalk, but their depth will overcome the emergence of Jimmy Howard.

Really interested to see how the lines are rolled out tonight.

Q has been very consistent this year compared to in previous years. Very little line juggling and for the most part lines have stayed in tact. I can't understand taking a Stalberg out and letting Carcillo/Bollig/Smith play at this point but based on the lines at practice that may be the case.

I'll be at the game tonight and it should be a good one. Last time (for the foreseeable future) that these two original 6 teams get to go at it in the playoffs minus a potential Stanley Cup match up in the future (how great would that be).

Carbomb better have the game of his life.

Bolland looks good during morning skate.

Hawks are gonna be interesting to watch.

Q just might be outsmarting himself on this one. The Hawks 3rd line has been the worse line out there. Scrambling every shift. Sometimes the best moves are ones you dont make.

Was flipping back and fourth between games, but now the Bulls season is over, so time to focus on Hawk'ey.
