Hawks have been playing some of their better hockey of the year the last month, and that's without their captain and best overall player. The role players have found their place. Finally. If Shaw, Stalberg, Bickell, Mayers, and the others can translate their regular season success into the playoffs, this team can go on a run. That is, if the power play doesn't kill them.

My dark horse for this season's playoffs is Victor Stalberg. Yeah, I'm saying it. The kid has REALLY found his game recently. He has come around so much from last season that he's not even recognizable at times, aside from his blazing speed. Patience with the puck, nice hands, good finishing, making smart plays, using his size. Kid is a keeper. He and Sharp give the other team so many problems out there when they are together. It should be a fun playoffs to watch. I go with Hawks in six.

If it wasn't going to be San Jose, I'd take Phoenix in a heartbeat.... that means we potentially dodge a possible LA or Nashville bullet in the first round. Going on a run would be nice if you ask me... and Phoenix is a good start for such things....

They're a young team with a goalie who has never been pressured like this. They're going to make silly mistakes regardless if Whitney and Doan are over there. Our playoff experience alone is the intangible in this matchup.

Hawks in 6.

The Kings vs Nucks is going to be a good one. I think the Kings are definitely a better team this year. Did'nt they take Vancouver 7 games last year?

Ahh the benefits of going to Phoenix... Thank god I will only miss 2 games of this series due to work. It could have been much worse.
