I vaguely remember someone talking about how Carcillo should replace Saad on the 1st line? Maybe even sending him back to Rockford? I cannot recall though.

All jokes aside, great game by the kid. He's getting better and better every day.

First 8 games: 0 goals, 0 assists, +0

Last 8 games: 3 goals, 0 assists, +2

The improvement is encouraging, still not the level that he is capable of but it shows something. If he starts sprinkling a couple assists in there and those numbers start to look pretty respectable.

I remember a lot as well...

I remember Q getting bashed often - has his team undefeated

I remember Bowman getting bashed for not making trades

Q has given Saad plenty of icetime...in plenty of key situations. PK. End of games/protecting leads. And for 2 shifts in the 2nd period he put Carcillo in (and the Hawks drew a penalty one of the shifts)...and the tears were flowing. Same as when Emery was first named to play vs SJ last time...and Q got the "what the hell is he doing treatment"....before being announced that Crawford was hurt.

Maybe...just maybe....Q knows what he's doing? And Bowman's plan/patience to develop his players/team...was the right one?

Haha relax, it was just a joke. Its funny the day that you pipe up about Saad, he's the first star of the game. When will you be throwing the "Bolland is injured again" party?

Kruger looked good in his place.

Clowe suspended pending in-person hearing Monday

The article says there is a possibility he could get a 10 gamer.

If it is determined he left the bench illegally, he is assessed an automatic 10-game suspension without pay and his club is fined $10,000. If he left the bench on a legal line change, he still is subject to Supplemental Discipline for doing so and then proceeding directly to start an altercation (Rule 70.2).

Ok, so Clowe gets 10 games for attempting to start a fight from off the bench, yet Hansen gets 1 game for something far more dangerous.

I definitely don't see the logic in what the NHL is trying to prove here.

They don't want to promote fighting, but weasels injuring the stars of the game aren't an issue?

As long as Kruger plays second line center and Q doesn't get fucking crazy putting Kane there I don't think Bolland will be that huge of a loss. Yah I said it PMX bite me. I still think Bolland is important but Im starting to agree that he hasn't made the best of the second line minutes as I thought he would. Kruger I am sure will replace him just fine until Bolland gets back. Doesn't really matter as Kane is the guy carrying the plays on that line anyways. He's actually playing center from the right wing if that makes any sense.

It's an automatic 10 game suspension if you leave the bench to fight, it's there to discourage bench-clearing brawls. The coach might also get a suspension and a fine.

yeah, really. The Shaw hit wasnt even that bad, he slowed down to minimize it as you can tell from pavelski not even gettting hurt or laying on the ice. Not to be too much of a homer... Clowe has a history not of suspensions (i dont think) but of having a fucking screw loose.

I actually thought it was a totally legit hit...the puck was there, and he didn't even push Pavelski into the bench (which he could have)....

yeah, puck was in vicinity and he rode him into the boards to finish his check, but a bit awkward but not totally from behind or anything and obviously not very violent.

Shaw shoved him from behind into the boards, can't get any more dangerous than that. He's lucky Pavelski isn't seriously injured. He shoved Pavelski on top of the right shoulder/middle back which is pushing him down and into the boards.

Clowe doesn't have much (to anything) to stand on. He came off the bench and straight for Shaw. There was no line change as J.P didn't come off the ice.

true, dangerous, but it seemed he didnt push too hard or else there wouldve been an injury. It is a play he NHL trying to remove, but also pretty innocent and harder to control than elbows and shoulders to the head and behind/blindside hits.
