I saw a new Hyundai Genesis today... looked pretty sharp from what I saw.

It really does look nice, but the gas mileage is pretty terrible. I think it gets up to like 17-19 in the city.

Yea that can be an issue.
Gas is reasonable right now but won't stay that way
I'm a fan of performance sedans.... It's kind of fun to roll over a self absorbed tool with the muffler heard round the world in an old man car.
Life is short... enjoy what you can.

PS: I love GM... They make everyday cars and world class performance cars... Yet 90% of the parts are same.
Euro imports are awesome... but will kill you in the shop.

A friend of mine has one of these. Nice car, and real damn fast, but the gas mileage is complete shit. They can get real pricey and it isn't worth the price tag IMO.

Audis are very well-made cars, boring though. I researched a bunch of cars for my oldest kid, wound up buying her a Subaru Outback.

I've owned many cars over the years, across all price ranges and styles, and i have to say that Subaru is the most reliable ride requiring less maintenance than any vehicle i have owned (even though i don't drive it). At your price range I vote Subaru.

As for the buick recommendations, lol, no different from a friend recommending a Dave Mathews concert. Hell no.

Cars tend to have similar regular maintenance schedules. I can guarantee the Subaru wouldn't last very long if you ignore the regular maintenance schedule, especially oil changes. The only car I can truly speak for on dependability is my Monte, because I've had it long enough to know what I've put into it. Outside of regular maintenance, in 120k miles, all I've had to replace are the tie rod ends, wheel hub assembly, and thermostat (twice). Of course, knowing how to do it yourself, or knowing someone that would, saves a ton of money.

Price tag is 30+ though. But yes....an awsome car. 100K bubper to bumper warranty doesnt hurt either.

Fun fact, the Genesis was the first car that Hyundai built from the ground up. Up until that car they had stuck to a business model that cut out R&D altogether from their bottom line by buying into previously fleshed out and used car designs and simply slapping on their own sheet metal on top of it. This is why they have been such a successful and profitable company. They have for the most part taken out the guesswork and possibility of failure by sticking to tried and true designs without issues.

I've only owned two cars.

1) A 1990 Honda Civic. I had it for 22 years and it had 460,000 miles on it. I called it the Battering Ram -- because anything that got in my way...BAM!

Holy cow I loved that thing. I forgot to change the oil for the entire decade of the 90's and that thing still wouldn't die. Legendary car.

2) Ferarri F40. Bought it from a collector in 2012 and despite it being from 1991, it only had 40,000 miles on it. Sweet ride but doesn't hold a candle to the Battering Ram.

Anyways I was just on Cars.com researching cars and will probably be trading it the F40 for a used Buick. I just started working for Uber and I'm apprehensive of driving a $500,000 car as an Uber driver.

So I just bought a 2015 Chevy Malibu LTZ, 25,000 miles.

17,500 out the door.

I somehow got 1,500 for my piece of shit.

No worries now... Plenty of warranty on that.
Enjoy.

This thread inspired me to buy an M1A2 Abrams main battle tank as my everyday driver.... though DJ slammed his 1990 Honda Civic into the side of it and flipped it.

Does anyone have a crane I can borrow?
