Not trusting anything an ESPN 1000 host says. Kap is wrong like clockwork.

That being said, Claypool is the least of my worries this season. If he sucks the bears will be trying hard for MHJ next year.

Oh gee I guess I'm right for the first time ever about something...

Even a broken clock is right twice a day.

Also, this is a report from silvy, who I wouldn't trust. These guys have "sources", but more often than not these sources aren't correct.

I listen to enough Kap/Jurko/Silvy to know all 3 have said they hear rumblings, but they were wrong. This is why you don't report on gossip, because most of it isn't true.

It was a horrible trade and there is not point belaboring it. GMs make mistakes. This won't define his tenure. Darnell Wright and the 1st rounders next year will.

Because passing on a generational talent at DT was a smart move. How many drafts have a generational talent in them that falls directly into your lap after you trade down from first overall?

So, to sum up this thread....
It's a big nothing burger.
Got it.
Moving on.

How many generational talents at DT couldnt complete their pro day and was involved in street racing where 2 people died?

I love how you are simultaneously crying about Claypool's work ethic but then fine with Carter's lazy ass not being able to finish his pro day.

He could be right about this but he’s acting like he’s the only one that didn’t approve of this trade. Plenty of posters here hated this trade
Those posters are going to be just okay when Claypool proves them wrong. Danielle? He'll be making up more stories about CCS members cyberbullying his fake kids.

The said the same shit after Vontaze Burfict's NFL combine workout and pro day and he turned out okay. Some guys can just play, Claypool has never been a guy who can just play. Plus the complexities of an offense require Claypool to work harder, wouldn't you agree?

you might be right but isn’t also possible that your sustain for Wright might be bc we didn’t take the generational player?

You might want to try and be more open minded about Wright

Still kind of a lot of here say if you ask me. Flus did not sound concerned. Fields said he’s seen growth and was impressed with him. It’s the off season so stuff like this is juicy. As a rookie he had almost 900 yards and 9 TDs. I somehow doubt he’s less mature now than he was as a 22 year old. We’ll see what happens during the season.
Lots of talk going on in the offseason, including lots of fluff. It's hard to know what's really true. It's almost like we'll just have to wait to see how they do on the field when the games count to know what's really up. Funny concept, I know.

Burfict finished his drills. He just had a poor showing. Carter couldnt finish which is surprising given he didnt actually play a lot of snaps in college. Dude played 300 snaps and still having conditioning issues.

So again it is weird to give some guys a pass for being lazy but not others. Especially when drafting with a top 10 pick.

We were never in position to draft Anderson. If you are taking about Carter you can't be serious. Every metric that is measurable says he will be a bust. Philly was the best spot for him. Without that structure he would fail.

Fans have gotten to the point where the game that plays out on paper or in their heads is more important to them than what actually happens on the field.

I blame fantasy and Madden.

If he was a generational talent then he wouldn't have fallen to #9.

Gervon Dexter was more highly rated coming out of high school and recruited by all the big schools. He chose to stay in Florida close to home, where he was the best talent on the D-line and every SEC team he played knew it, throwing constant double teams at him. He played nearly every down cause Florida didn't have anyone close to as good as him while Jalen Carter got to rotate in with 1st and 2nd round picks while playing alongside 1st and 2nd round picks. Carter could go all out on every play but he didn't cause he's lazy. Dexter had to carry the D-line for his team on nearly every snap. Of course everyone knows by now Dexter was asked to play read and react rather than attack his last year in college which hurt his stock.

We'll have to see what happens with both guys but i'll take Dexter and his upside in the latter half of the 2nd over Jalen Carter and his red flags with the 9th overall pick.

Err, wasnt burfict one of the dirtiest and most hated players in the NFL?

Pretty sure that isnt a good comp for the carter situation.

Good player though, which isn't quite the same thing. I'm worried about Carter just being lazy and entitled leading to lackluster post-monster-extension Haynesworth type career while perhaps getting into trouble off the field. The Eagles have a great situation to bring him into unlike we do. Passing on him in favor of Darnell Wright was a no-brainer correct call, IMO, and picking up an extra 4th for the it is the cherry on top.

Pertaining to Claypool, I just wish he were on the field getting the reps but nothing will matter too much until the games start, negative or positive. Obviously you like to hear positive news but there's also been instances of a lot of positive reports surrounding a certain guy or team just to have it not show when the real games start. Adam Hoge recently said that in his 13 years (or whatever) covering the team, this is the first year that what he's seen in team workouts actually backs up some of the hype.

So now you're asserting that Dexter is better than Carter? This is amazing.
