Believe in "the trenches" guy? History results are in and that was a lie for the most part.

Believe in Poles knows you can't win if you don't have offense? For sure.
Believe that if it doesn't work the McCaskeys will fire him and hire someone to gut the offense and put it all into defense for another 10-15 years. I can believe that too.

The good thing for the McCaskeys is he really hasn't sunk a ton into offense and he has the defense in a pretty good place short of another pass rusher. On paper they should be happy for how it's working out. Now it just has to work out.

He hasn’t sunk a ton into offense? He just drafted a quarterback and wide receiver in the top 10.

It’s not that I disagree with you but I don’t think you understand his commitment to the trenches before making the picks he did today.

That said, our trenches have sucked since Jon Tait retired and Olin Kreutz peaked.

What????
It's not that you disagree or you don't think I understand. It's that you completely went somewhere way off what I wrote.

Other than Wright (and Sweat if you want to include outside of drafts) he hasn't really shown a commitment to his trenches speech. It certainly hasn't been his priority.

I think what he's done for the offense can work this year. I expect it to work this year.
3 great WRs and an assumably great QB? If the OC can't get production it's probably not because of personnel. Oh yeah, and then there's the proven OC that shouldn't have a problem getting production.
People wanted to claim no excuses for previous QBs? As far as we know before seeing them this is the no excuses offense.

I'm not complaining about what he's done, I'm answering the thread title. Poles is as much GM speak as any other, I don't believe a word that comes out of his mouth until I've seen action.

So how many?

Rookie QB and thrown together team in their 1st year. I'd be happy with 7-8. Mediocre.

The way the team has been shaping up I expect we'll be in the playoffs unless there's some surprise bums. 11-12? I expect we're going to be KC good now and quickly.

How soon do people forget.

Patrick and Whitehair gone.
4 IOL including 2 who can actually snap the damn ball brought in.
Sweat. Moore. Edwards.
Bojack gone and upgraded with Byard.
Swindled the Panthers and got CW and Odunze.
Jones and Wright ARE the bookends.
Added Swift, Allen, and Everett.

Poles has put in the work. If you look at it, he actually did address "trenches" while improving the offensive weapons.

Edit: best of all, NO MORE GETSY!

And he's not done.

Time to give credit where credit is due.

It's crazy how a month ago you were claiming that you wouldn't take my ban bet because "I wouldn't have honored it", the day before fields got traded. And now, 30ish days later, despite them doing the literal thing you were calling us idiots for suggesting that they do, you are asking us if we have any remaining doubt about the GM. Certainly makes you think!

Freaked out when they traded for Tait....line was a mess ...,Bears gave up on Columbo healing...Tait helped give a window
