I would lose my shit if I lived where it rained and cloudy pretty much every day. Nothanks. Although I would move to SoCal in a friggin heartbeat. mmmm Cali girls. Laguna Beach. Hollister Beach. hnggggg

Good luck with that Mick. You're not married them I take it? I heard mixed about Portland. Some loved it. Some hated it. Weird indie scene and a lot of try hards, so if ya can get past that I'm sure it'll be cool. Personally, I'd rather move down to Nashville or Austin. I may be moving to Nashville next spring, but I'd love to go to Austin; but those damn hipsters ruined it :(

Either way, prepare yourself.

if yoiu move to austin, how will you deal with all the mexicants?

Everyone is over-exaggerating the rain issues. Here in Vancouver it's a gorgeous sunny day, 23 celsius. Some winters can be pretty dark and dank, but not every year. You actually learn to appreciate the rain and never miss minus 30.

My biggest complaint weather related is the lack of good intense thunderstorms.

I love a good thunderstorm. We have some crazy ones down here.

you're in vancouver? no shit bro. We were there a couple years ago and found the canadians to be much more rude there than in montreal. at least in the gaslamp district or whatever it was called. but they had strongbow in the pubs for like $20 so I tolerated it.

I was in Austin in October for a conference and stayed downtown, and I swear it felt like a carbon copy of river north. There was one street that had all the same restaurants as where I work. Cantina Laredo, Fogo de Chao, Fado, Chipotle. 6th street seemed like kind of a circus but then again I'm old and should kill myself. I also had just had ass surgery so I was walking around like a clubfooted shithead.

Oh, I also had a beer at Vince Young's steakhouse and the bartender was a major beardo choad.

The Gingerman was nice but they were too cool for school.

The Bourbon Girl on 6th street in Austin is a Chicago Bears bar. Watched the first Detroit game there, which sucked, of course, but won an autographed viktor stalberg hockey puck in a mandatory raffle.

You were introduced to strip clubs when you were 70?

You didn't like Vancouver? No shit bro. It's quite true that this city is full of douches and hipsters, but most Canadians, other than Albertans and the prairies, do try to make themselves feel better by disliking Muricans. Passive aggressive inferiority complex.

I did love the countryside and the harbor itself. We biked around Stanley Island and I almost went into the sea a few times. We also went whale watching and aside from the insufferable Germans (same type as you run into all over Europe) that was pretty cool if terribly unhip
