So, Urlacher Thinks The Bears Will Finish...

I can understand those that claim that Urlacher is only being honest, but why does it seem like other players that leave their teams are loyal to the oranization. It seems like everybody is always a homer for their team when they leave Dallas, Pittsburgh, Giants etc. Urlacher the best player for the Bears in the last 10 years has to "keep it real" I guess. How much you wanna bet that Ray Lewis wont say the Ravens are 3rd or 4th best in their division.

(I generally hate Urlacher vs Ray-Ray comparisons but they both just retired)

Bad comparison Obviously Ray won't say that about the Ravens they just won the superbowl! haha. And Greg Jennings bitched Aaron Rodgers and said he had a big head and how he loves how the Vikings run things that in Green Bay they were told to hate everyone. Tiki Barber bitched Eli Manning when he retired also.

Lastly Lewis and others were loved in their city. All Urlacher got and still gets is bitching from Bears fans. Urlacher didn't even get a phone call when he was let go.

With the vikings getting 3 first round picks including Patterson and the addition of Greg Jennings, I think their offense got extremely more explosive. Not to mention AP is a monster. Yea we upgraded our Oline but lets not forget the other teams that upgraded as well... We finished 3rd last year, and with the vikings draft and free agent additions this off season in my opinion they improved more than us. I have the Bears at 3rd as well, which is why you can't really fault Urlacher for saying the same since it's the truth. Not to mention we have a new coach and new system.

That doesn't mean I don't hope we can't over achieve and win the division. Some of you people are pissed that Urlacher said we would finish 3rd? we finished 3rd last year! It's not like we were 1st and he's saying we'd downgrade without him...

They also lost Percy Harvin who was the best player not named AP on the team. and their best corner in A. Winfield. I don't see Patterson and always injured Jennings as an improvement over Harvin. I don't see their rookie corner being better than Winfield. All they have done is fill in for what they have lost but that doesnt mean they improved. They will have to be lucky to win 9 games because no way in hell does AP repeat the season he had last year. We had the 2nd best record last year tied with Minny and we actually IMPROVED at TE, RG, and LT with more depth at WR.

Basically our offense will be better and our defense is the same as last years with the exception of a slow, injured, and now bitter Urlacher. The only way our team is 3rd or 4th in the division will be injuries or bad coaching, and I have faith in what Ive seen so far from the coaches.

Baltimore was only 10-6 last year, has lost more players to free agency and injuries than any other team and they are in a division with Cincinnati and Pittsburgh. They have 3rd place written all over them. As for Tiki Barber he was bitter just like Urlacher so I never said players never turn against their old teams but for the most part they are homers because for every one Tiki I can name 10 others that are homers for their old team when they retire.

Greg Jennings doesn't count because he is still playing and of course he is going to talk trash since Minny is in the same division and he wants to show he is against GB. Lets see how his story changes when he retires and see if he still "hates" against the only team he won a SB with.

I never said anything "disrespectful" about him, he can say whatever he likes thats his job as an analyst. If you think he isn't bitter you are kidding yourself. What does butt hurt mean exactly, because 1. I don't like the concept and 2. How is anyone wrong is pointing out all the negative comments that the guy has made since he claimed the Bears did him wrong by offering him a contract that nobody else was going to pay him?

seemed like a pretty fair assessment, maybe this should motivate his teammates... but cmon lets not get over dramatic about this, the dude answered the question honestly. I think you ask most analyst they have the bears finishing 3rd or 4th behind Green Bay and Minnesota as well.. That doesn't mean we can't prove them wrong and win the division.

Actually most analysts have the Bears finishing 2nd. Not to mention the best handicappers in the world (Vegas) have the Bears at 8.5 wins going to 9 and 2nd in the division while the Queens are at 7.5 wins and 3rd. Just saying

No Cutler being prone to throwing picks, having a new coach and new system, is a realistic expectation that we will finish 3rd.

Only one of their first round picks was on offense. Also, until I see anything from their QB I'll remain skeptical. I also fail to see how the vikings improved more than the Bears and the Vikings didn't have a better roster than the Bears last year. The Bears were done in by piss poor offensive coaching and the vikings got almost the single best season by a running back in nfl history and still finished with the same record as the Bears. I'm not saying I think they're bad but I don't think anything they've done in the off-season clearly puts them ahead of the Bears.

Good thing the Bears record last season wasn't bouyed by record paced defensive scoring!

Pretty stupid to somewhat set aside the Vikings record last season paced on Peterson's near record run when it'd be really easy to do the same thing with the Bears record in regards to their defensive scoring pace early on that lead to their inflated record.

FWIW, IMO this entire division is a crap shoot this year. 10-6 will likely be good enough to win it and I think every team in the division is talented enough and capable of getting to that mark.

Im not worried about a QB who missed the most passes to his wr's when throwing against air. Im not worried about a weak qb verse the Bears defense.
