The two things analysts seem to ignore about the vikings is that AP will not rush for 2000 yards this year, and ponder drags the team down like an anchor. last years playoff run was a miracle.

Apparently urlacher is one of those analysts now too.

Edit: oh. And the lions still suck. I dont see bush changing much of anything.

So does this mean Brian Urlacher & Hub are going to join forces?

A crap offense in an offensive league with an entire new system. What do people expect him to say, Superbowl favorites?

urlacher is a bald ***** it's going to be funny when they win a super bowl this year without him and he cries every day the rest of his life.

Agree on the Lions, but the Vikings look like a better team than the Bears as of right now. They were roughly even last year, and the Vikings have the benefit of continuity. Both teams added players that should make them better.

He's also the best football player the Bears have had since Dan Hampton. He's not going to be crying because the Bears aren't winning a damn thing.

I see where you are coming from, but imo the vikings havent improved as much as a lot of people say. Greg jennings is no better than harvin at this point, and just as injury prone. Plus ponder is still throwing the football.

The 3 1st rounders they drafted are still rookies and they were drafted late in the 1st round, not exactly sure stars the first year. And i still feel the bears defense is better than what the vikings have.

But if the bears offense flops, then yeah. 3rd or 4th place sounds likely.

Ponder blows and AP will not last the year healthy.

Mick can be pessimistic and he's right about Brian being the best since Hampton. I think they'll win 10 games, but I tend to be optimistic with my Bears.

The dude is an analyst now not a homer. Given the coaching changes and uncertainty with the Bears, it is a fair assessment. Hopefully we end up surprising.

Agreed. This team always finds a way to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory. I expect another .500 season, nothing more. A shining example of mediocrity. Urlacher isn't being sour grapes, he's being honest.

He's trying to prove he's not a homer to his new boss, Rupert Murdoch.

Could be, but given the Bears' record in recent years, there is nothing to indicate they will suddenly become a contender & start beating up on Green Bay. Any objective observer would have to pick Green Bay as the favorite. And, until the Bears show some consistent winning tendencies, they're going to continue to be picked as an also-ran, especially with a new, untested coaching staff. Wasn't a Lovie fan at all, but am also taking a wait & see attitude regarding Trestman. Have seen high hopes turn into dismal failure too many times with this organization through the years.

I did not read this whole thread but was this real? Did he actually say that? I'm a little disappointed, I know for a fact if he was on the team he would say they are good enough to win the super bowl. I would like to see him be a Bears backer for life. But if he can't move on, then oh well.

Umm more like Captain Negativity.
If you already know your "favorite" team is gonna suck and isn't going to win, why do you even follow the team? If I felt the team had no chance to win I wouldnt even bother wasting my time.
