I thought I explained it...as it was explained to me, forgive me if I am being redundant but Code's reply reminded me...

2014 is what they are waiting for, not next year. If I am not mistaken, in 2014 they will be able to offer Mirotic at least a mid level exception as opposed to the rookie scale contract which is similar to what he makes now. There will also be a lot of free agents available that year if certain options are exercised.

Yeah, I don't think the 2014 free agent class is going to be as "sexy" as it seems right now. Most of the big names COULD be free agents... but they'll likely all pick up their player options. Most of the guys who will surely be free agents [unless they sign an extension before then] aren't really "franchise changers."

I'm looking forward to 2014 because we could potentially have a lot of cap space. Deng's contract runs out and we could amnesty Boozer. unless we bring in another huge contract before 2014, we could be be around 15-20 million under the cap if we play our cards right. This could be perfect when it comes to trading for players with big contracts [Maybe there will be an unhappy superstar in 2014 that wants out?] because we don't have to give up big contracts in return, which the other team might not want. We could also trade for players that were in Bynums position and had 1 year left on their deals and then sign them to an extension... again, like a superstar that wants out.

We'll see though. The Magic and Lakers [clearing Kobes 30 mil and Gasol's 20 mil and maybe nash's 9 mil if he retires.. oh and Artest's 7 mil] are also expected to have cap space in 2014.

97Bulls, share your master plan how to get big free agents to sign. I've said numerous times it takes two sides to make a deal. If you don't believe that, then you probably have bigger problems than Reinsdorf being "cheap."

He can't.......and none of you can either.....

ITS TOO LATE NOW. The Biggest window of opportunity was the last 3 years. That window is now closed........for a while.

Reality...........and the number 1 reason is OWNERSHIP-MANAGEMENT.....F A C T...PPPPPERIOD!!!!!!!

Get real.
You are riding on Miritoc on being the savior that will put the Bulls above the other 4 super teams?
Good grief, gimme a break.
What if he gets hurt before then?
Plus how do you know he will be a superstar status player in the NBA when he finally comes here?....You don't..........He may be one of those Tony Kucoc type guys that are the biggest stars over seas, but when they make it to the NBA, they are average, slightly above or below....Or possibly he can be like Gasol and come here and dominate in his skills.....but I'm not riding or depending on it....OR USING MIRITOC AS AN EXCUSE FOR ALL OF PAAXGARREINSDORFFS PRACTICAL JOKES AND BLOOPERS OVER THE LAST DECADE OR SO......The Best door of opportunity has closed for some time.....

I don't see him coming here and being any more than a Tony Kucoc player, meaning a
good player, like Deng or somebody like that...But not an elite star caliber player that we need.

I never called Mirotic a savior.

And its idiotic for you to speak of an elite player...but get upset because they Bulls signed Hinrich instead of Ben Gordon. Then you say they couldn't do any better...but you are upset because...they didn't do any better.

I know you had multiple accounts...each for one of your personalities. But having all of them post off one account is...confusing.

Thats Bull and you know it. The Bulls basically started with a clean slate after 98. They were dead last in payroll

that's,uh, part of the fall out?

Sure they were. They went after Duncan, Tmac, and Hill. And they had Brand
apparently not...considering they got none of those guys

the bulls were terrible when they had brand...brand was the #1 pick in 99 lol

like you literally gave me a giant chart of the atrocious record that the bulls had back in the day, yet somehow they were in a prime position to get these 3 guys?

who were they going to spend on then?

Wow. Perinial bottom three payroll for multiple seasons, then get to middle of the pack. Big whoop

well it's quite a bit better than they had been

I gave a solutiion in another thread I made. You wanna see a surefire way to get the Bulls/Reinsdorf commited? Back wayyy off they support. Dont attend their games, dont watch them on TV. Dont buy their brand. Hit them where it hurts. Their Pocket.
1.you,and everyone here knows that wont happen....if the bulls have a semi-decent, or even crappy team, they will attract people, and if they back off of support in the hometown you may see lower prices, and opposing fans might look into making some trips

i see it causing more trouble than anything else

2.reinsdorf has already lost millions in value the last few years anyway

3. if the bulls have a giant dip in revenue, then that would hurt the bulls if reinsdorf does take the initiative to really dip into the luxury tax, because a bit of that money is coming from revenue

The Lakers and Heat have multiple championships over the timeframe in question. And while the knicks havent been as succesful, theres definately effort

A. i understand that, my point is that every big market team goes through rough patches...hell golden state and philadelphia are also top 10 markets, and they've been shit for a long while

B. lol@the knicks...effort? more like careless spending in the guise of "effort"

Ive never waivered from my point.

your original premise had to do with the bulls taking a stance, going over the tax, and signing a guy like bynum..but as i and others have explained, this is impossible because the bulls are over the cap

so then you backtracked and basically said "well, i mean, maybe they can sign a guy like him if they get under the cap", which is still highly unlikely

what you realized is that the bulls have to save to spend, do you understand?

I dont want to see the Bulls bring in a key FA at the expense of a core player.
so the bulls are going to shop everyone but rose, boozer, deng, and noah and make a super deal to get a key FA...

brilliant! stupid reinsdorf never thought of that!

That gets us nowhere. For instance, trading James Harden at the expense of Noah solidifies our SG/second scorer, but it hurts our defense, rebounding, and were gonna need another big.

ya, because i totally said it would be a straightforward harden for noah trade:obama:...why the hell would the thunder accept that in the first place?

I dont see how Im complaining, Ive more than made a strong case for how the Bulls can improve and why.

You agree? THEY HAVNT WON A GOD DAMN THING BECAUSE OF THE DECISIONS OF THIS CHEAP MOTHERFUCKN BASEBALL LOVER. THE FACT THAT THEY HAVNT EVEN SNIFFED THE FINALS IS A DIRECT INDICATION THAT EVERY DECISION THEYVE MADE HAS BEEN WRONG. HIM AND HIS BUFFON/HENCHMAN GAR/PAX

Why do you keep saying Jordan wasn't a winner? WTF

that isn't complaining?

you haven't made a "strong case" are you kidding? how can you make a strong case when you dont understand the terms of finance which is the basis of player movement and team planning?

All ive heard from you and posters liike you, is excuses for failure

or facts...buuut virtually the same thing right:smug:

i am the one that suggested looking into sign and trades, am i not?

you do realize they STILL couldn't outright sign him even IF they were under the cap by a million or two(which they probably wont, barring some trades and some unlikely moves) because the first year of the contract would probably not fit within the cap...bynum would probably ask for 17 at least
But...we could sign him to a deal that gives him the vet min the first year with the rest backloaded! :kermit:

Well I guess this does not surprise me. We all know it's being used on Boozer anyway. Just a matter of when.

For all of you idiots...I'm sorry...people who stated that Jordan and Pippen were the reasons people are not coming to Chicago....listen to Nazr Mohammed's interview with Bernstein and Holmes at the beginning of the 3PM hour. He practically laughs at the thought of that scenario being used.

I am guessing those who stated that are butthurt because Pippen was underpaid those years. Which was HIS FAULT! But then again...one guy on here claims to know so much basketball...because he played at the local Y...good grief
