We are getting to the final lap. the standings and the points are crucial for the placements of teams. discuss standings, changes in standings here.
Second straight yr of this shit. One day, maybe they'll be elite again.
All good points. Even my dad, who is going to be 60 in June, has no clue on the direction of this team.
Nice race for the 8th seed in the west. Sure dont want to play LA ever in the playoffs. If they make it they can upset someone in the first round.
We probably would have to make it to the Conference Finals to see them anyway.
it was a general statement that i just wouldnt want to play them and that if they make it in they could give the 1st seed some trouble. the talent is there with the kings, they just havent put it together.
People really wanna face the Stars?
When the other options among the top 5 seeds are Detroit, Vancouver, St. Louis, and Nashville ... yeah, I'd take Dallas. I'll take whoever wins that division, actually. Six seed looks good to me.
Behind that, only other team I'd want to see is Detroit. Those other top-seeded teams would resort to goonish, trapping hockey and I don't think this Hawks team has the ability to win those series with a patient counter-attack.
Detroit, meanwhile, plays a style of hockey that the Hawks can match: Free-flowing and end-to-end rushes. I'd rather see that than a clogged up neutral zone for a 7-game series.
It's weird that you're super quick to make excuse for the Kings over and over but the Hawks are on the shit list even if they win some games.
Imagine the Sharks as the #8 seed? No pressure.
Could be a dangerous 1st round match-up for the Blues, if it were to happen.
I'd consider Nashville the toughest matchup for the Hawks out of everyone in the west.
They're better than they've ever been, playing the same hockey that frustrates the Hawks (who have trouble with breakouts to begin with), they have Rinne as the last line of defense and they have the most efficient powerplay in the league.
Shit's nasty.
